The adorably, chubby-cheeked Willow Smith is making headlines today. Social networks are abuzz with chatter about the 9-year old daughter of Will and Jada Pinkett-Smith and the new single of hers which leaked yesterday. Truthfully? The song is actually pretty good!
The track is entitled “Whip My Hair” and is extremely catchy. It’s pretty refreshing to listen to a song by a child, that actually has a child-like sound to it.
The only criticism that I’ve heard is related to the use of autotune. But, if we are going to judge whether we like a song or not based on whether autotune is applied to it, we would probably only have a rotation of about 7 songs to choose from on our iPods.
I could be a little biased. You may already know that I have a heart for 9-year old Willow. And speaking of “whipping hair”, just last week, I interviewed her amazing hair stylist, Marcia Hamilton, and this is a snippet of what she had to say about Little Miss Willow:
“Willow is extremely progressive for a child her age. She’s super open and she’s so much fun to work with…she’s like a ball energy!”
There is a rumor that Willow has already been picked up by Jay Z’s Roc Nation music label. Wow…I can’t imagine how exciting things must be around the Smith household these days!

The song is a fly, the song is very “HOt”, like daughter like father, the w hole family is totally gifted and just loaded with talents, unbelievable talents. Jay-Z was smart about jumping on the Label with Willow.
This song is going to hit radio stations all over the nation and then over seas. The song “Whip my hair will be liked by both children and adult, I know the night clubs will play the song as well. It’s got a freshness to it , it’s got an up beatness to,nice to hear a good beat from a child again, makes me feel like Michael jacson is coming throw Willow. God Bless you Willow and your family,
P.S. I have always been a fan of Jada Pinkett since she made “boz- in the Hood”. “Good job MaMa Jada.

You know, I’m sitting hear listening to this nine year old,” whip my hair” Willow, and I can’t get enough of this song, she has knocked Ciera and Rhanna out the box.This girl is going to take this family to a whole different level, not their that their already the top of thier game, but this Willow Smith, this is another deal right hear. I don’t know, but Willow is going to be around and the public is going to demand to see and hear more from her, she is really talented and has a lot of spunk and energy. I’m already anxious for the next label. GO LITTLE GIRL GO.
