James McAvoy brings “The Conspirator” to Toronto

It’s the moment we have all been waiting for, our beloved James McAvoy walked the red carpet at the “The Conspirator” Premiere held at Roy Thomson Hall during the 35th Toronto International Film Festival on Saturday, September 11, 2010 in Toronto, Canada. Director Robert Redford was in attendance during the introduction of his ensemble cast which includes Alexis Bledel, James Badge Dale, Kevin Kline, and Robin Wright.

“The Conspirator” is set in 1865 and it opens with the assassination of President Abraham Lincoln. It follows the subsequent court hearings of the alleged conspirators, focusing mainly on the defense of Mary Surrat played by Robin Wright, the mother of one of the accused who ran a boarding house where John Wilkes Booth planned the attack.

Redford and his sole financial backer Ameritrade founder Joe Ricketts are hoping to score a distribution deal during TIFF. Not only do I want the movie to be made available so I can see the gorgeous McAvoy on the big screen, but Mr. Redford has proven time and time again to be a brilliant filmmaker.

Good luck!

  1. Hoping this finds a distributor soon. Really, really want to see it! James McAvoy doesn’t do enough movies and anything he chooses to do, I will see!
