If you’re half as excited as I am for next week’s “NCIS” season eight premiere, then you’ll know how great it was to see these photo’s from next Tuesday’s episode Spider and the Fly. Notably absent from the pictures are Cote de Pablo, Pauley Perrette, and Sean Murray. But, no doubt they’ll be in the episode!
When we left Agent Jethro Gibbs (Mark Harmon) and his team at the end of last season, it was quite a cliffhanger! While lots of good things happened, like Ziva David (Cote de Pablo) becoming a US Citizen and full fledged NCIS agent, it ended with a scary picture. Gibbs made it back from Mexico in one piece, but it appears the daughter of a long gone enemy has returned as well and she happened to show up at his dad’s store…
Lots of questions to be answered! Will Jack Gibbs (Ralph Waite) be ok? Will Agent Gibbs be brought up on charges for the murder of Hernandez so long ago? And what about that smuggling he did? Will Mike Franks (Muse Watson) step up to help is old probie? Will Ziva & DiNozzo (Michael Weatherly) EVER hook up?? (Ok, so probably a “no” on that last one…)
I’m sure we’ll get the answer to some of these questions next Tuesday, September 21! I am SO ready. In the meantime, check out these pictures that CBS so kindly released.

I did notice that Abby, Ziva and McGee were not in the pictures. That seemed to be the same as the end of last year. NCIS has really turned into the Gibbs/DiNozzo show and that’s not the show that I had come to love. Even the promos are just Tony and Gibbs. Very disappointing!!!
I agree Kathy! As much as I LOVE DiNozzo (and I love him a lot), Ziva was practically MIA after making the move from Mossad to NCIS and that disappointed me. I miss her Ziva-isms. Hopefully this season she, and McGee, will get more screen-time.
The end of Season 7 was very boring to me. I’m over the Gibbs drug cartel story. I missed Ziva too. Her role seemed smaller on the show towards the end of last season. I also missed the fun Tony and Ziva sexual banter. That almost didn’t exist after Jetlag. Their relationship is an important ingridient that makes this ensemble show oh so delicious. When you leave either one of them (cast) or the Tony & Ziva relationship out its like cooking up a meal and forgetting the key ingridients. You can always sense that something isn’t right, that something is missing from your meal. I’d love to see Abby and Ziva working together on a case in the future.
