The stars showed up in New York this morning for the 2nd Annual High Heel-a-thon. The event took place in Central Park and was hosted by LIVE! with Regis and Kelly, which actually taped their show directly from the event this morning.
The High Heel-a-thon sets itself apart from other sprints. The caveat is that all participants must wear high-heeled shoes during the competition, with a minimum of a 3-inch heel. Proceeds from the event go to the Foundation for the National Institutes of Health in support of The Heart Truth® campaign for women’s heart health education and research. Notable particpants included Broadway star Kristin Chenoweth, renowned figure skater Johnny Weir, 2007 Miss USA Rachel Smith and Tim Gunn from Project Runway.
During the event, Kristen (set for a return appearance on Glee) and Johnny were spotted keeping themselves hydrated with the zero calorie, unsweetened essence water HINT! Kristen was partial to Watermelon flavor, while Johnny preferred Pomegranate-Tangerine! YUM!
The 2010 High Heel-a-thon was sponsored by Zappos.com and Volkswagon, who’s Jetta was the official car and the grand prize for the event! In addition, LIVE! With Regis and Kelly has arranged for a special $50,000 donation to this worthy cause in commemoration of the event.
