“Gossip Girl” intrigue is Brewing on the Upper East Side!

Happy Monday Upper East Siders! What’s better than a fresh batch of Gossip Girl set photos to start the week? Following the whole cast (except the golden duo Serena/Nate played by Blake Lively and Chace Crawford) filming out on Friday, a quite extended group of the cast including Taylor Momsen (Jenny), Jessica Szohr (Vanessa), Leighton Meester (Blair), Kelly Rutherford (Lily) and Matthew Settle (Rufus) kept busy in the streets of NYC today filming further scenes.

We wonder if Penn Badgley (Dan) was absent following his recent interview with the New York Post where he stated the show has become “routine” and that he and real-life girlfriend Blake Lively aren’t friends with Ed Westwick (Chuck) and Jessica Szohr? Provided said quotes correctly express the actor’s feelings, it must not be that easy to face everyone on set after that comment? Friendship of course is not a must, especially not between a Brooklynite like Dan Humphrey and those Upper East Siders.. even though we know Dan will team up with Blair, who’s basically his complete opposite on the show, to take down Katie Cassidy’s character Juliet. But that “routine” part must have not gone down too well with producers and co-stars, especially since there are those, like Chuck and Blair, whose stories have organically developed and for once gone a different direction than the usual “we honeymoon around each other and plot together” path.

Whatever the case, Jenny is wearing one of those “I’m up to no good” outfits. Except they only dress her like that lately, so it’s really hard to tell what she may be up to. Truth be told, while we find it absolutely inappropriate for a 16-year-old, this outfit is still slightly better than the latest few we’ve seen on her. Now if they finally make her wear classy shoes and a longer dress (and by longer we mean above the knee instead of just below the belt), we may have a classy Jenny Humphrey again. Girl’s certainly got the looks to pull it out… so please put her in something classier, Gossip Girl costume designers? Rufus and Lily seem to have a very casual/chic look, so methinks some family time is ahead.. or just quality time together? Aw, romantic times even for parents, they’ve earned them after all they went through!

We can’t help but wonder what everyone’s plotting here.. when Blair, Vanessa and Jenny are shooting in the same place, it’s either catfight (and this doesn’t look like it) or big intrigue ahead. And this being our favourite Upper East Siders (or Brooklynites) we’re certain the latter is part of the package. What can it be now?
