What a way to end a Friday with some super scoop about America’s favorite fictional serial killer?! Chip Johannessen, Executive Producer of the Showtime hit “Dexter” spoke to E! news about what has been going on in the series this season and what we can expect for the remainder of the season.
Of course the main subject to tackle has to be this relationship that has built up between Dexter (Michael C Hall) and Lumen (Julia Stiles). At first I was into it at all. I swore she was going the way of Miguel Prado, completely unstable, but now…..it’s all looking a bit clearer to me that she is going to be that bridge that help Dexter move forward from Rita.
Lumen has moved into his marital home, the same place his wife was murdered and by the end of the last episode she even met his son Harrison. While planning their next move, Dexter even said “we.”
So is she going to become the Bonnie to his Clyde? Here is what Mr. Johannessen had to say:
“I wouldn’t rule out any physicality completely.” Your guess is as good as ours as to what that means, but physical or no, things with Lumen and Dexter are decidedly not “romantic.”
“This doesn’t look like a conventional romance, because on the one hand [we have] a really damaged person in her, and then we have a serial killer in Dexter,” he explains. “So they have this thing that’s very Dexter-y [and] very, very intense, but it’s not like a romance.”
Way to be cryptic there Chip…..I literally have no idea where you are heading with this but I assume that was the point.
About how it will all end, apparently he has been reading message boards and confirms people are hot on the trail and asking the right questions.
“Their journey is going to end in a surprising place,” he says “I don’t like to obsess over the boards, but people are asking the right questions. Nobody’s come up with the answer that we did of where this thing goes, but close. This relationship is going to end in a very, a unique way.”
Is “very unique” code for, Dexter won’t be killing this one? Stay tuned…..

Speaking of unexpected pairings, next up on the list are Deb and Quinn. Last season I totally saw the love/hate thing going on between these two and knew they would hook up sooner or later.
With Quinn hot on the trail of Dexter you KNOW you can’t stop thinking about Doakes either. So is Deb cursed in love forever?
“This connection with Deb (Jennifer Carpenter) will grow to be significant for him, so he’s got a lot of stuff to handle. [Their relationship] is major piece that we wanted to play this whole season and we do. Deb’s situation with Quinn, which is just bobbing along at this point, intensifies in one way or the other. Or both.”
Yep more cryptic messages, we don’t quite know where this will end up but for sure its not looking good for Quinn if he keeps chasing the Kyle Butler lead.

Here is a new video of whats coming up in the next episode of “Dexter.” We see Dexter paying a visit to motivational speaker Jordan Chase (guest star Jonny Lee Miller) and we learn he too has been doing his homework. He knows about Rita and her demise, his son Harrison and thinks Dexter might benefit from his program.
Catch an all new Dexter, Sunday nights only on Showtime.

I am a huge Dexter fan, and even made a halloween setup with stuffed animals and knives in their chest saran wrapped to a table (just like the show’s kill table)for the neighborhood kids. There aren’t many places to get Dexter online if you miss a show. One of the easiest to find is “TVduck dot com” but avoid it. It is laced with viruses and took down my neighbor’s computer. Love ya Dex, but I want the killing to not include a computer.
Of course Dexter and Lumen will become romanticly involved. I child could see it.
