Psych kicked off with our new-finally-official couple making their way to the holding cells for a little alone time. Because of Shawn (James Roday) outing Lassiter’s relationship with his previous partner, resulting in her being transferred from the department, their romance must be kept on the down low.
“No touching in the police station.”
She surprises him with two tickets for “Scare Fest” for the next night. The only problem? He already has plans to go with Gus (Dule Hill). Shawn tells her that he’d rather go with her –– but after some tears on his best friend’s part, he decides he can’t disappoint him.
Unfortunately, Shawn and Gus get more than they bargained for when Shawn witnesses the murder of who we later learn is the amusement park boss. (Gus was a little preoccupied…doing everything possible not to open his eyes during the ride.)

After an employee expresses his belief that the murderer was the ghost of a young boy, John Ricketts, who died falling off the ferris wheel, the gang gets themselves their very own Scooby-Doo case.
Personally, I adore when Psych dives into the scary genre, with episodes like “Tuesday the 17th” and “Let’s Get Hairy” to name a few.
With girly screams and all.
During the course of the case, Lassiter and Juliet get into a conversation over her backing up Shawn’s lead and Lassie wanting to make sure they are on the same team. The foreshadowing was great and I cannot wait until he finds out.

We didn’t, however, have to wait very long for Gus to find out. Despite what Shawn claimed to Juliet at the end of the episode, (while holding hands –– can you stand the cuteness?) Gus was understandably, not shocked.
“No more secrets,” says Juliet later in the scene. More foreshadowing? After Shawn apologized earlier for lying about not going with Gus anymore, (which he points out wasn’t a lie at the time) he promises no more lying to her.
I’m anxious to see how the not-psychic thing is going to play into that later on…
With the return of the previously fired Ken, hilarious past episode call backs, and a few awesome Scooby-Doo references, and the further development of the Shawn and Juliet plot, this episode was a definitely a must see.
The boys are taking a break next week — but catch the next all new “Twin Peeks” inspired episode on December 1st.
