Which would you like first, the good news or the bad news? Personally, I prefer to get the bad news out of the way. So here goes:
The Bad News - We must wait 2 weeks before we get a brand new episode of The Mentalist. As depressing as that sounds, it will be worth your wait, my friends (see “The Good News” directly below)
The Good News - Although Episode 10, entitled Jolly Red Elf doesn’t air until December 9th, we have the return of Chief Agent Minelli to look forward to!!!!
Yes, Gregory Itzin will be reprising his role as Virgil Minelli, and I am dying to find out what he will be contributing to this episode. We all know that Chief Agent Hightower (seen above looking exceptionally gorgeous) took Minelli’s place once he retired back in Season 2. We also know that Pruitt Vincent Taylor will be making his first appearance during this episode as J.J. LaRoche, an Investigator with the Professional Standards Unit

The CBI pursues two lines of investigation when a Santa is murdered: Patrick Jane goes undercover in an AA group; and Rigsby and Van Pelt question members of an authentic Santa society. Meanwhile, following the demise of a person in custody at the CBI, J.J. LaRoche (guest star Pruitt Taylor Vince) is brought in to question the team when it appears to be an inside job.
Itzin’s return, Vince’s first appearance, Jane pretending to be an alcoholic…this is gonna be good!!! Episode 10 of The Mentalist will air on Thursday, December 9, at 10/9C.
