Disney Pictures has released a new image of Johnny Depp and Penelope Cruz for the upcoming Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides.
In the shot, you see Captain Jack Sparrow (Johnny Depp) along with Angelica in the murky waters as they make their watery way through the jungle in search of the Fountain of Youth. This is before his ex girlfriend forces him aboard the Queen Anne’s Revenge, the ship of the formidable pirate Blackbeard (Ian McShane). Jack finds himself on an unexpected adventure in which he doesn’t know who to fear more: Blackbeard or the woman from his past.
I’m still feeling a bit torn about this installment of the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise as these are the movies that made me fall in love with Orlando Bloom. But Captain Jack (and Johnny Depp) are so amazing on the big screen that I know it will end up being amazing!
The international cast includes franchise vets Geoffrey Rush as the vengeful Captain Hector Barbossa, and Kevin R. McNally as Captain Jack’s longtime comrade Joshamee Gibbs, plus Sam Claflin as a stalwart missionary and Astrid Berges-Frisbey as a mysterious mermaid.
Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides hits theaters May 20th, 2011.
