This has been a huge week for many of our favorite shows with both the Golden Globe and Screen Actors Guild Award nominations being released. Showtime again scores multiple nominations for Dexter and Nurse Jackie while HBO racked up nods for freshman show, “Boardwalk Empire” and mini series Temple Grandin.
Dexter wraps up the week with three SAG nominations including Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Drama Series for Michael C. Hall, Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series and Outstanding Performance by a Stunt Ensemble in a Television Series. Edie Falco scored a Screen Actors Guild Awards nomination for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Comedy Series for Nurse Jackie.
It’s also a big week for the new film, “The King’s Speech” which collected four SAG and thirteen Golden Globe nominations. Our beloved Brit Colin Firth is up for Best Male Actor in a Film while his co-stars Helena Bonham Carter and Geoffrey Rush nabbed supporting role nominations. Jointly the group is up for Best Ensemble Cast in a Motion Picture.
