Landon Donovan is joining the list of celebrities set to ring in the New Year solo. The soccer star who kicked butt for the American team during the World Cup games in South Africa earlier this year is filing for divorce from his wife Bianca Kajlich.
I do wish that portion was the more shocking of the news but it seems that Mr. Donovan is seeking spousal support from Bianca who stars in the CBS sitcom, “Rules of Engagement.”
TMZ got their mitts on a copy of the documents filed in L.A. County Superior Court and confirm he is citing irreconcilable differences and that the duo have been apart since 2009. Landon and Bianca must have tried to work through their issues, lest we forget the kiss he blew her during the world soccer tournament!
The couple married in 2006 and have no children together so why does Landon want spousal support?
During said World Cup, Donovan was caught up in a paternity scandal after a British woman claimed he fathered her unborn baby. Paternity tests proved he was NOT the father (Maury Povich style) but maybe the suspicions were enough for poor Bianca.
