Happy New Year Upper East Siders! It sure looks like it will be a glorious one for plotting and creating scandals for our favorite characters on Gossip Girl. Given the chilly temperatures, Gossip Girl producers were so kind as to give us some much-needed hotness with Chace Crawford parading around Bergdorf & Goodman with Tika Sumpter, as they were filming scenes for episode 17 today. I swear I can’t feel the icy wind just looking at those blue eyes. What, I’ve got a thing for blue eyes! Ahem.
Chace’s character, Nate, will end up in the orbit of the latest liaison dangereuse of his best friend Chuck (Ed Westwick). Tika Sumpter, portrayed in photos with him, plays Raina, Chuck’s new belle, who has quite some interesting relations herself. She is, in fact, the daughter of a business tycoon who comes to town to, guess what, engage in a family war with Chuck for Bass Industries. Long story short, the girl of course will fall for the dandy charm only our favorite Bass can exude and the two will engage in quite the business plan. And, ahem, if we know Chuck Bass, something far hotter, too. What’s a business relation without some bed hopping on Gossip Girl?
Now, about this street encounter between Nate and Raina. Sure looks like something’s up, and not of the romantic kind. Some things just never change. Including the fact it’s 2011 and Chace Crawford still looks gorgeous! There have been quite a few rumors about Nate and Raina, but we believe the case is much more of a business one rather than a romance one. As in… well we all know what Chuck’s mind can come up to when it comes to business, no? And Nate is, after all, his best friend. He would do anything to help Chuck out. Or wouldn’t he? Oh he would. Surely more for Chuck than he ever would for Dan (Penn Badgley), who will be instead busy with Blair (Leighton Meester). And Serena? (Blake Lively). Well, she’s busy having secret dates with a hot blond actor named Ryan. Oh no wait, that’s Blake. Serena instead seems to be in far less prestigious company, namely that of her former teacher and ex convict Ben (played by David Call). At the very least from previously released photos, we know they share scenes. But, is there more to it? Well, there always is on Gossip Girl!
