TVLine got the scoop on some news that I’m very happy to hear! My very favorite NCIS Special Agent, Tony DiNozzo (Michael Weatherly), will be getting is own origins episode this spring! Hooray! We’ve seen lots of Gibbs (Mark Harmon) backstory over the years. Lately there has been plenty delving into Director Vance’s (Rocky Carroll) past. We were around for McGee’s (Sean Murray) beginnings and we’ve learned most of Ziva’s (Cote de Pablo) as well. But, this is the first we’ll really get to see into Tony’s past.
We know that Tony was a Baltimore police officer before joining NCIS. He worked homicide cases on the force. There are trivial things too. His mom died when he was very young, he was in a fraternity at Ohio State where he played varsity basketball and got his Bachelors in Physical Education (can you image Tony the high school PE teacher??), and we’ve met his father (played by Robert Wagner) on several occasions.
This spring we’ll get to learn more about his time as a Baltimore cop and we’ll learn the first words spoken between Tony and Gibbs. My guess for first conversation between the two?
Tony: {Insert something obvious}
Gibbs: Ya think? {Insert slap to back of head}
Are you excited to learn more about Tony?? I know everyone is chomping at the bit to know more about Abby (Pauley Perrette) too! Did you know that Abby Sciuto was voted the America’s favorite television star? I’m not sure the science behind the poll… But, she’s certainly in my top 10!
Tony backstory + Bob Newhart guest star = A great formula for a stellar second half of the season.

This show is just getting too DiNozzo heavy this year. Now a stres related issue. What about poor Ziva that was tortured. She was strong enough to let it go, They have destroyed the Tony character for me. I think that Ziva should be the new senior agent. She is the most reliable and the strongest. No not excited about watching more flashbacks. Hated the Vance episode and justy want to watch the funny quirky show. ALso the men should be rescuing the women not the men being weak. Show is starting to lose its luster.
I love all the characters in NCIS especialy Tony. this is my favourite line from the very first episode of NCIS.
Dennis: NCIS. Never heard of it.
Gibbs: That`s embarrasing.
Dennis: NCIS anything like CSI?
Tony: Only if your`e dyslesic.
