I must admit, after watching the season four finale of Californication I was terrified that it would not come back for another season. (don’t expect a big cliffhanger like season three provided) The entire season is full of brilliant acting and writing plus Hank Moody (David Duchovny) and his crazy/sexy/cool life can definitely provide enough material for years to come!
Hot off the record-breaking ratings for the fourth-season premiere last week, SHOWTIME is picking up a fifth season of CALIFORNICATION, it was announced today by Showtime Networks President of Entertainment David Nevins. Twelve new episodes of the hit comedy series will go into production this spring.
This season, Hank enlists the help of high-powered defense attorney Abby (guest star Carla Gugino) to keep him out of prison after he’s charged with bedding a then-underage Mia (guest star Madeline Zima). Fourth season guest stars include Rob Lowe, Zoe Kravitz, Stephen Tobolowsky and rocker Tommy Lee will make a cameo, as well.
While most of the guest stars have heftier roles, Tommy Lee is set to make a “blink and you missed it” cameo so keep your eyes peeled!
