This week the NCIS team has to solve the case of a Recruiter at a high school. And they”ll have to do it without Ziva. Much to Tony’s displeasure, Ziva is using her comp time to visit her South Beach Cassanova. I love when Tony is jealous of Ziva’s boyfriends.
Luckily, we do have an interesting guest to fill the void left by Ziva’s absence. Ducky’s predecessor, Dr. Magnus, is visiting NCIS today and taking in all the new hardware on Abby, er in Abby’s lab. Magnus was played wonderfully by Bob Newhart. The character was endearing, but slightly sad because he was so befuddled by the differences. But, in the end, the team really came through for him.
McGee: “I want my inhaler,” Tony: “I want Ziva back.” Ask and ye shall receive oh tall and handsome one. Ever since Ziva’s been a full fledged NCIS agent, it seems like they’ve let her character fall to the background a bit. I was super worried with her not being in the episode, but all is well now.
Characters aside, I don’t feel like I retained much of the act case this week. There is a dead Navy Recruiter, his gay lover, a drunk wife/beard, and an angry teenager. The last 10-15 minutes really picked up a bit, but I still wasn’t thrilled with the story this week. But, I liked Dr. Magnus and I’m glad Tony missed Ziva.
Also, Director Vance is finally back from medical leave. If you’ll recall, we last saw him when he was nearly blown up with Ziva’s pops.
