The cast of the anxiously anticipated (by me at least) reboot of the hugely popular 80s drama Dallas on TNT is filling up fast. Last week Larry Hagman confirmed that he had a verbal agreement to return as JR Ewing and was waiting to sign the contracts. Now more of the original cast is confirmed and some new faces will be roaming the halls of Southfork Ranch.
This week it was announced that Patrick Duffy will return as good son Bobby Ewing and Linda Gray will slip into her strappy heels and lingerie to play JR’s drunk and long-suffering ex-wife Sue Ellen. But this new version of Dallas will focus more on the next generation of Ewings, specifically the Ewing cousins…JR’s son John Ross and Bobby’s adopted son Christopher as they do battle over the future of the family business. Hottie Josh Henderson (Desperate Housewives) will play John Ross but no Christopher has been announced yet. Jordana Brewster (Fast & Furious) has signed on as Elena who is involved in a love triange with Christopher and John Ross.
I wonder if they are talking to any of the other original cast members like Charlene Tilton, Steve Kanaly and Ken Kercheval. I know I’d love to see what Lucy is up to now…that little slut. And I hope they get permission to shoot at the same ranch again. It should be easy since it is essentially a Dallas museum and event space now. *fingers crossed*
No word yet on when the show will debut so for now let’s relive the magic with the original opening credits.
