They said it wouldn’t last and it didn’t. Ashlee Simpson and her husband of nearly three years Pete Wentz are headed for divorce court. Ashlee filed the papers in an L.A. court this morning citing the traditional “irreconcilable differences.”
Confirming the news, the musical duo released a joint statement this morning.
“After careful consideration, we have made the difficult decision to file for divorce,” a rep for the stars told USMagazine.com
“We remain friends and deeply committed and loving parents to our son Bronx, whose happiness and well-being remains our number one priority. We ask that everyone honor our privacy as we navigate this next phase of our lives.”
In the paperwork, Ashlee is requesting joint legal and primary physical custody of their young son AND would like spousal and child support.
