Cristiano Ronaldo celebrates Irina Shayk’s SI cover!

He is the fantasy of men and women all over the world and now, Cristiano Ronaldo has become the envy of countless more! The Portuguese football star attended a party celebrating the Sports Illustrated Swim Suit Issue held last evening in New York City, New York on February 15th, 2011.

His stunning girlfriend Irina Shayk was honored with becoming the featured cover model on this highly anticipated issue.

In typical Ronaldo fashion, he was dressed to the 9′s in a pair of dark denim jeans, a golden blazer over a light blue turtleneck and Gucci emblazoned sneakers and scarf. I don’t know many men that can pull off a turtle neck but this guy rocked it!

Irina spoke to David Letterman about how it felt to score the cover of such a coveted issue.

I honestly can’t barely remember. I probably cried and screamed, all at the same time. It was a roller coster of emotions. I had butterflies in the stomach. No, I’m lying — I was sick to my stomach. You have to understand, I come from such a small village in Russia — it’s not even in the map.

So for me to be in the Sports Illustrated cover, a magazine that over 60 million people see — it’s a BIG deal and honor. I had all emotions coming through my mind — happiness, accomplishment, joy, fear… it’s very complicated to describe. It’s certainly unique. It feels great.

And when asked how Ronaldo felt after he found out she said, “Pure smile!”
