While I’m happy to see new images of Jemaine Clement, I feel kind of bad about what went down. According to the photographic caption, Jemaine was snapped while walking along and he was none to happy over the attention. At some point, it seems like he throws water at the photog so as to get him to stop taking pictures of him.
Now the agency claims that a fan got upset and retaliated by throwing a hot coffee at him! Poor Jemaine! He was just trying to mind his own business and this whole situation erupts!
I’ve had the chance to meet him and he really is one of the nicest guys in the world so I can’t imagine he would do anything like this unless provoked.
I almost rather not see any new pictures of him if it means him having to go through something like this.

I totally agree this was provoked and it really seems to a horrible point to get him to throw water on someone. It’s sad as he looks to be smiling in most of the pix.
Not that he needs my defending any further but just wanted to add that I saw him as recently as a few days before this incident. He had a water bottle in his right hand, which he moved to his left in order to shake my hand and greet me warmly. He is the most friendly of people you could meet and has a reputation for being nothing but patient and kind with fans. I’m sorry to hear that someone was jerky to him but he’s a big boy and I’m sure he’s forgotten about the stupidity of it all already.
Yeah I think most fans who have had a Jemaine encounter would agree that this is not his normal behavior. PLUS, you can see him in mostly a good mood in the pictures.
Who knows what was said and how badly it came off for him to have gotten to the point that he did. You are also right about him not even thinking of this whole situation today.
As I said, I love posting about him since we rarely get any pictures of him but not at the cost of all this.
Agreed that it’d be better not to see new photos than have him go through this. Jemaine is a lovely guy, an absolute gentleman with fans who don’t hassle him. He deserves to have space to do his thing in peaces.
Although an understanding of the specific issues associated with love-shyness may better focus these methods.
