Gossip Girl star Jessica Szohr takes on Miami in the Jaguar XJ

Where could you find a hot Hollywood actress joined by Miami’s imagemakers and trendsetters this past Saturday? At ONE Bal Harbour Resort & Spa where the celebration of the launch of the all-new Jaguar XJ kicked off with Gossip Girl star Jessica Szohr!

The fun began when all the fabulous guests (including me of course!) enjoyed light bites and refreshments on a patio area overlooking the water. Next we had the opportunity to choose a pair of Ray-Ban aviators provided by Lincoln Road’s Optical Shop of Aspen at the outdoor sunglass bar. I honestly never found a pair of Aviators that suited my face but alas I finally scored some that looked awesome!

Looking stylish in our new shades, we climbed into the luxury sedan and took on the open road for an unforgettable afternoon. We rode caravan style through the streets of Miami with onlookers staring and trying to count how many Jags were driving in a row!

But I have a feeling that even just one of these vehicles heading down the street would be enough to stop traffic, it’s simply gorgeous!

All of us were ecstatic when we finally made it to the I-95 and could really see how well the 5.0-litre 385 hp naturally aspirated direct-injection V8 engine drove as we made our way to the to Boca Raton Resort & Club. Our guide mentioned the car could go 0-60 mph in 5.4 seconds though none of us were able to confirm this!

Call me a chick but my favorite features included the sound system, the massaging chairs (!) and the breathtaking sunroof! No wonder I was so impressed by the sounds since it’s the only vehicle to feature a system from Bowers & Wilkins, the same folks who have their speakers in use at Abbey Road Studios in London!

Once we arrived into Boca Raton, valets parked our cars while our hosts escorted us to lunch at Morimoto. (Owned by Iron Chef Masaharu Morimoto!) I had the pleasure to sit next to Jessica and her childhood friend Dena who encouraged us to try many of the appetizers.

I lack my outgoing abilities when it comes to trying out new food but everything they put in front of us was full of yum.

My favorite items were the tuna pizza, the rock shrimp tempura and the Kobe Style Katsu.

Promptly after our meal we headed over to Serendipity 3 for dessert. Just like the two locations in New York, this whimsical palace of pure deliciousness did not disappoint. We had a spread of sweet treats that I wished I had saved more stomach space for.

Must have: Frozen Hot Chocolate!

By this point I really needed a nap, but since sleep is for the weak, we hopped back into our Jaguar XJ L’s to drive back to Bal Harbor. I lucked out and scored a Super Charged model so you can imagine I was being really delicate with the accelerator.

Sadly we had to return our vehicle as the day drew to a close. Though we needn’t be completely sad. As a thank you, our hosts gifted us with our very own touchscreen Kodak SL/CE camera!

Driving the Jaguar XJ really gives you the feeling of luxury and opulence. When this blog blows up, you best believe you will find me in this Jag!
