I had to wake up really early to make it down to the University of Miami campus this morning, but after having the pleasure of listening to entrepreneur Loren Ridinger speak as part of the The Launch Pad series, it was all worth it! Not many people could stand before a crowded room and leave every single person motivated, inspired, and fired up but Loren sure did.
She may hobnob with some of Hollywood’s elite including Jennifer Lopez, Eva Longoria, and Kim Kardashian but when you hear her story you realize things were not always this way for her. Much like the rest of us, Loren came from modest means but had a fire put in her belly by her mother who sadly died too soon. She may not have lived long enough to see fully what a success her daughter had become but as Mrs. Ridinger says, “She knows.”

Before the event kicked off, I had a chat with the gentleman sitting next to me who flew in from New York to listen to Loren speak. A native of China, he moved to the United States thirteen years ago with hopes of achieving the American dream. He owned a few discount stores years ago before discovering Market America. Now he is an entrepreneur and plans to move his family to Miami, just like Loren and J.R.
The Launch Pad series serves both beginning and experienced entrepreneurs, assisting with opportunity recognition, feasibility assessment, and strategy for starting and growing companies or non-profits. Up next is a discussion with entrepreneur Marc Ecko as part of their fashion series.
