I had the pleasure to attend the fabulous Grand Opening of Lime Fresh Mexican Grill’s latest location in Plantation, Florida on Thursday, April 14th, 2011. Never had I been to an event that had so much delicious food making its way out of the kitchens for guests and celebrity alike! Nibbles these were not, we had monster trays of quesadillas made of meat, cheese, and chicken, flautas, chips and guacamole, amongst the tasty treats for all to enjoy.
There was no VIP room separating former members of the Miami Dolphins team including Keith Sims, Sean Hill, Daryl Porter, Oronde Gadsden, Lorenzo Hampton, and Twan Russell from the media and excited members of the community. We all shared one space and shared one thing in common, the love of good food.
As part of the opening celebrations, Twan Russell received a donation for the Russell Life Skills and Reading Foundation, Inc after the ribbon cutting ceremony. The Foundation is dedicated to providing young people with the fundamental tools essential to success. It does this by emphasizing the importance of reading as a purely educational tool and as a means through which young people could experience the world beyond their immediate communities.
It currently serves more than 450 youth in Broward and Miami-Dade Counties annually.
What better way to kick off Plantation’s newest hot spot than by supporting a local charity?! For other Lime locations or to check out their delicious menu items, click here.
