As a self confessed Anglophile, I couldn’t help but get insanely excited when I saw these new images of Rob Brydon and Steve Coogan. I was a huge fan of Gavin and Stacey and count Brydon’s character Uncle Bryn as one of my favorite characters of all time! (Can someone please tell me what the REALLY happened during that fishing trip?!)
He is also great fun on Would I Lie to You? I wish there was a way for me to get British television 24/7 via my regular cable provider. *nudge *nudge Comcast!
Rob and the equally fabulous actor Steve Coogan made a special appearance at the premiere of their new film, “The Trip” during the 10th annual Tribeca Film Festival held at the Chelsea Clearview Cinema on Thursday, April 21st, 2011 in New York City.
The duo star star as themselves, old friends who wind up touring romantic Lake District restaurants together after Coogan’s American girlfriend bails. Breeding sidesplitting banter about everything from their careers to Romantic poets to who does the best Michael Caine impression, Coogan and Brydon rediscover their friendship and themselves in one hilarious week.
I really hope this gets U.S. distribution!
