When season four of Californication ended, I was worried Showtime would not be renewing the series. The tidy way Karen (Natascha McElhone) and Becca (Madeleine Martin) left with Ben (hottie Michael Ealy!) and his daughter Pearl (Zoë Kravitz) on an RV trip while Hank watched from the sidelines seemed an appropriate ending. But I’m quite happy to know the story didn’t end there!
TVLine.com is reporting that rapper Robert Fitzgerald Diggs, better known as Wu-Tang Clan member The Rza, has joined the cast “in a major recurring role.”

Diggs — whose acting resume includes roles in Ghost Dog, Due Date and Repo Man — will play a slightly dangerous hip-hop mogul who Hank (David Duchovny) considers writing a movie for.
Now that Karen seems to have grown tired of Hank’s B.S. and is finally moving on with her life with what seems like a good guy and all the legal mumbo jumbo is left behind (at least for now!), this will leave a lot more time for Hank to get back into his groove.
I can’t wait to see what direction the writers take for season five! Especially when it comes to Marcy’s (Pamela Adlon) love triangle with Stu Baggs (Stephen Tobolowsky) and ex-hubby Charlie Runkle (Evan Handler), now that everyone knows whose baby she is carrying!
