At least when Russell Brand hosted the MTV Movie Awards the crowd had a good laugh! Last nights production was an overall flop as far as I’m concerned but there were at least three redeemable moments.
Number one on the list happened when Emmy Award Winning actress Reese Witherspoon accepted the MTV Generation Award for her longtime work in Hollywood. She could have simply thanked fans, family, and the network for the honor but instead she used it as a platform to speak out to all females listening!
“I get it, girls, that it’s cool to be a bad girl,” Reese said during the ceremony which took place at Universal Studios’ Gibson Amphitheatre on Sunday, June 5th, 2011. “But it is possible to make it in Hollywood without doing a reality show. When I came up in this business, if you made a sex tape, you were embarrassed and you hid it under your bed.”
Cheers from the crowd had her laughing before continuing…..
“And if you took naked pictures of yourself on your cell phone, you hide your face, people!” “Hide your face!”
“So, for all the girls out there, it’s totally possible to be a good girl,” the recently wed star added. “I’m going to try to make it cool.”
Reese has always picked up respectable roles and has been able to make it in Holllyweird without any major scandals to speak of. And to further prove what a great role model she is, Reese attended church on Saturday with her handsome hubby Jim Toth.
For those of you wondering what my other two favorite moments were from the MTV Awards here they are:
2. When Alexys Nycole Sanchez accepted the “Best Line” Award for her signature saying, “Let’s Get Chocolate Wasted” from the movie, Grown Ups.
3. When the show ended!
Did you guys enjoy the show?
