Janina Gavankar and Janelle Ortiz get glam with CoverGirl

Looking absolutely beautiful in a coral top and white pants, Janina Gavankar made a special appearance at the CoverGirl Beauty Bar held at the NINE ZERO ONE Salon on Friday, June 3rd, 2011 in West Hollywood, California. I just love how the True Blood beauty accessorized her ensemble with a wide belt with the buckle turned to the side!

We also had the pleasure to attend the event and although I did not bump into Janina, when I arrived at the Covergirl lounge I noticed the beautiful purple themed decorations around the salon. My eyes were undeniably drawn to the tower of enticing purple cupcakes on the counter!

After checking in, I was quickly escorted over to the room where all the magic took place and seated with the very talented and welcoming celebrity makeup artist Amy Nadine. After a bit of fun chatter and connecting over our similar jobs in the industry, I discovered Amy is an extremely successful makeup artists who’s client list includes Rachel Bilson, Kate Bosworth, and Lauren Conrad.

I knew I was in good hands and was excited to see the result!

She started off using CoverGirl & Olay Simply Ageless foundation in 235 (for my fair complexion that has a bit of an olive touch) and applied it with an egg shaped sponge. She soaked the sponge in water first and then dried with a towel in order to give my skin a dewy complexion through this application.

She then applied Covergirl Nature Luxe gloss balm to my lips in Tulip (205) which I absolutely fell in love with and use now everyday. It is a balm that moisturizes heavily dried lips with a hint of color as well.

Heavily recommended!!

She also introduced me to a new weapon I use every morning…Covergirl Liquiline blast in black. Its my new favorite eyeliner- a pencil that also has a touch of a liquid liner effect. The other side of the liner also has a smudger so you can create smokey eyes. Love killing two birds with one stone!

Since I asked for a more natural look, we stayed away from too much shadow and used Covergirl intense shadow blast in a shiny white only on the inner corners of my eyes and under my eyebrows to brighten up my face a bit. She finished off my look with CoverGirl Lashblast, adding an extra inch and curl to my lashes.

After getting my makeup done, I walked into the next room and saw more pretty pink & purple decorations and then set my eyes on the holy grail of the event…the Hypnotiq bar!! Drinks were glowing purple and pink, decorated with gorgeous floating flowers. I floated over there and asked for the sweetest drink they had!

What I got was HPNOTIQ Harmonie, and it had a yummy fruity flavor. The perfect girly drink! As I sipped on my drink, I chatted with the adorable ‘How Do I Look’ Host Jeannie Mai who looked more than perfect in her oversized glasses and colorful outfit.

Other celebrities who attended were Prom star Janelle Ortiz, Dancing with the Stars pro Karina Smirnoff, The Hills star Stephanie Pratt, The House Bunny actress Rumer Willis, singer/actress Demi Lovato, The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills stars Lisa Vanderpump and Taylor Armstrong, and Detroit 1-8-7 beauty Natalie Martinez.

Russell Brand and Diego Boneta Rock On!

It’s been a hot minute since we’ve posted an update from the set of Rock of Ages! I won’t go into details as to WHY at this time but you should know that getting photographs off the set has become increasingly difficult but OBVIOUSLY not impossible!

While Alec Baldwin has wrapped up his scenes (at least for now) we did score some images of him while in costume. The long hair and the outfit looked hilarious on him, so you can’t blame me for not recognizing him the first time I saw him in the get up.

These are also the first images of Russell Brand to come of him in a totally different look. Now that Alec is all done I’m worried that Russell too will soon depart from the Sunshine State without me being able to have said hello!

Julianne Hough and Diego Boneta have also been keeping busy with their scenes. Julianne had the opportunity to show off her fit body in a mid-drift baring ensemble which featured a short denim skirt and a fanny pack!

Talk about a flashback!

Diego showed off his toned arms in a sleeveless shirt and tank top with jeans. Que lindo!

We can’t wait to see the first images of Catherine Zeta Jones who has already been busy rehearsing for her role. I have not had confirmation of her on the set as of yet but it’s just a matter of time before she is spotted at work.

Julie Benz to guest star on Royal Pains

Ever since her stint on the Showtime hit Dexter, I have become a huge fan of Julie Benz. I cried and was in utter shock at her untimely death but rejoiced when she was cast in the supernatural dramedy No Ordinary Family. I was yet again left inconsolable after its cancellation until today!

TV Guide announced this morning that the Pennsylvania native will have a guest starring role on one of my favorite USA comedies, Royal Pains!

Here are the details from Keck’s Exclusives:

Julie will play a young mother named Elyse. After an accident on the family farm leaves her with a nasty wound that won’t heal, Dr. Hank (Mark Feuerstein) is called into action by her daughter Libby (Meredith Hagner).

Julie’s experience as a lesbian stripper on Desperate Housewives should come in handy, as Elyse just so happens to be a lesbian farmer with a wife named Anna.

Keep your eyes peeled for the episode airing August 3rd.

Aimee Teegarden and Jaime King party with Elle in Miami

Between wrapping up the final season of Friday Night Lights and promoting her new movies Prom and Scream 4, Aimee Teegarden has been a busy little bee! The twenty one year old actress took a much needed break to attend the launch party at ELLE Spa at the Eden Roc, a Renaissance Beach Resort and Spa on Thursday, June 9th, 2011 in Miami Beach, Florida.

Joining here were Jaime King and her husband Kyle Newman, Joy Bryant, Gillian Jacobs, Isaiah Mustafa, and singer Rye Rye who performed during the event.

“Dexter” scores Molly Parker for season six

The cast of the Showtime hit Dexter has grown by one more as of this morning! Canadian actress Molly Parker has just been signed on for a guest role according to TVLine.com.

Here are the details:

TVLine has exclusively learned that Parker will appear in several Season 6 episodes of the Showtime drama as Lisa Marshall, the sister of Colin Hanks’ mysterious new character, Travis. Sounds innocent enough, but details surrounding Parker’s role are scarce — which piques our interest even more.

If you recall, Colin joined the cast on May 10th and is set to play the role of “Travis, a highly intelligent young expert on ancient artifacts who gets linked to a series of grisly murders in Miami.” No one knows yet whether he will end up saran wrapped in one of Dexter’s (Michael C Hall) kill rooms so you will have to tune in!

The clue from TVLine seems to give me the impression that Lisa Marshall could even be suspect! What if she is setting up her brother or circumstances have made Travis look suspect.

Parker, who previously starred in the HBO drama Deadwood, joins an amazing cast of guest stars including Mos (Def), Edward James Olmos, and the aforementioned Hanks.

William Shatner will guest star on “Psych” this fall

It looks like William Shatner is going to take a small break from shooting those funny Priceline.com commercials to guest star on the USA hit comedy, Psych. Mr. Shatner, also known as the Priceline Negotiator and most iconically for his portrayal of Captain James T. Kirk in the Star Trek series, will the play role of “Frank O’Hara,” the estranged father of Detective Juliet O’Hara (Maggie Lawson).

Here are the details straight from the USA Network:

Frank is a charming con man who wants to mend his broken relationship with his daughter.
But when the opportunity to pull off a dream con is presented to him, his decision to stay on the right side of the law becomes more complicated.

Shatner most recently starred on the now defunct CBS comedy $#*! My Dad Says which was cancelled after one season.

Michael C Hall and Sam Trammell: Geek Out!

Two of my favorite guys, Michael C Hall and Sam Trammell stepped out for the Los Angeles Times’ 3rd Annual “The Envelope: Primetime Emmy Screening Series” Geek TV Panel held on Wednesday, June 8th, 2011 in Los Angeles, California. Joining them were comedian Joel McHale and Big Bang Theory star Johnny Galecki.

As part of Emmy Week celebrations, the LA Times have set up five fabulous days where they screen premieres of highly anticipated television programs, host Q and A and Roundtable discussions with the stars of shows like, Mad Men, True Blood, Dexter, Justified, Community and Shameless amongst others.

Last nights “Geek Out” event was the final one of the series.
