When I watched the latest preview of my beloved comedy series, The Office, I instantly started smiling at the fact that re-runs will soon be replaced with the new and fresh season 8. A rush of blood went straight to my head and I just had to take a deep breath when I saw Jim and his adorable face. Not to mention Dwight (Rainn Wilson), period. Is that too much? Oh well, I can’t help myself!
With brief details being released in the past few months about possible plot lines and James Spader named the new CEO of Dunder Mifflin Sabre, many fans started to feel the new energy that was being created. Along with the cast boasting about the show’s facelift, I just have to believe that it will live up to all of my expectations.
In the sneak peek, the cast discusses the new season and how James Spader’s character, Robert California is bringing a new twist that has never been seen before under the previous rule of Michael Scott. With all of the hype over Spader joining the cast, I am so anxious to actually see him once again in action with the cast. Of course, no mention of who was dubbed the new boss, bleeping out Ed Helms when he said the name, and cast members saying it will be “shocking”.
Hmmm…perhaps the writers will really throw in a curve ball like Pam (Jenna Fischer) and her pregnant belly or Kelly (Mindy Kaling) and her airhead remarks.
Can an original cast member really take over the role? With Michael Scott (Steve Carell) gone, other characters now have the opportunity to become more developed and have more lines. But, do I really want to see that? In a way, I liked the few one-liners from Kevin (Brian Baumgartner), Oscar (Oscar Nunez) and Meredith (Kate Flannery). All I can say is trial and error.
