Joshua Jackson waxes poetic about Fringe

Joshua Jackson (or Pacey as I like to call him cuz I’m a dork) has portrayed the dashing and witty Peter Bishop on Fringe for three long seasons now. He’s battled shape shifters, women who could make your head literally explode and been turned into a cartoon but in season four he might just face his biggest challenge yet as he told Entertainment Weekly:

If you didn’t see the season finale of Fringe this past spring then let me stop you right here. DO NOT READ ANY FURTHER cuz thar be spoilers in them there woods. Now, with that out of the way…let’s move on.

There’s been a running joke since season three ended that Jackson is out of a job. When the Walternates converged and Peter’s story arc became so complicated he manipulated himself out of existence. POOF. Back to The Creek for Pacey. But with Fringe nothing is that simple.

“My hope is that the journey of Peter and the journey of the show pays off that cliffhanger we saw at the end of last year,” he says of season four. “It’s a pretty cool conceptual thing to allow the show to go off in this direction. So the show is going to be grappling with that from an emotional point all year,”

But what about Walter, his father? How will he manage without Peter around to keep him grounded? Joshua had this to say:

“I’m looking forward to hashing out a new permutation of it. Because the dynamic is going to be entirely changed.”

Changed is an understatement. At least Walter has Astrid around to bring him pudding now and then until this mess gets resolved. For an actor working on Fringe has got to be the best job in the world. Most of them get to play two roles, sometimes not so different but therein lies the challenge. Anna Torv has crafted two Olivias that are different is subtle ways which can be hard to portray effectively. Torv has owned it and made them both her bitch and even thrown in a Leonard Nimoy impression that made me want to slap William Shatner.

John Noble‘s two Walters on the other hand are vastly different and he switches back and forth with ease. Peter exists only in one world though since his “alternate” died when he was a kid, setting the events we are witnessing now in motion. Rebooting Peter in season four will be a special treat for Jackson.

“To me, I was glad they were able to go that big with the cliffhanger last year. The nobility of that sacrifice is a great ending for the Peter we used to know. His journey was to grow up and become a man, become part of a family and dedicate himself to something. The ultimate test of that was, ‘The choice is them or you.’ So I think the guy who would come back to us now would be a changed man.”

I’ve tried to work out how season four will play out in my head all summer and I’ve got nothing. To say I’m excited is mildly downplaying the reality of it. I’m damn near rabid. That being said, the idea that Peter got transported back to Dawson’s Creek and wakes up on that damn dock wondering what the hell happened is a visual too amazingly awesome to let go of. I think a Funny or Die skit is in order. God knows Van Der Beek will be up for it.

A Deeper look at American Horror Story

FX is really hyping up their new series from Glee creators Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk and I can’t say I blame them. What I’ve seen so far looks very creepy and interesting. But I have a bad habit of getting excited about well executed promos only find out that the show itself pales in comparison. Happy Town, I won’t forget what you did to me.

This latest video features most of the impressive cast in several WTF moments set to creepy music. It doesn’t give much about the plot away but does help set the tone for the series a bit. I can’t wait!

Desperate Housewives gains one badass for season 8

Veteran bad-ass Miguel Ferrer is bringing his own special brand of smackdown to Desperate Housewives for the final season. Most recently on Lifetime’s The Protector, Ferrer holds a very special place in my heart from his turn on Twin Peaks as obnoxious FBI agent Albert Rosenfield who delivered many quotable gems like

I’ve had about enough of this small town filled with morons and half wits, dolts, dunces, dullards and dumbbells… and you… you chowder-head yokel, you blithering hayseed. You’ve had enough of me?

On Desperate Housewives Ferrer is playing a famously temperamental artist named Andre Zeller who is teaching at the local college and meets his match when Susan Mayer (Teri Hatcher) joins his class. Hopefully the writers on Wisteria Lane will give Ferrer some scathing insults to deliver as only he can.

Desperate Housewives invade your living room once again on September 25.

Update: Josh Groban set for guest appearance on ‘The Office’

What a week it has been for my beloved television comedy series, The Office!

With Stephen Collins and Dee Wallace already signed on to play Andy Bernard’s (Ed Helms) parents, and while they were at it, how about another family member?

Singer-turned-actor Josh Groban will be making an appearance as Andy’s brother in the upcoming season! The episode will be about Andy’s family coming to Scranton for a visit, but there is still no word yet on how many episodes he will in. Let’s all just pray that a sing-off will be happening between the two!

With all of the latest casting news surrounding Ed Helms and his character, many are starting to believe that he will be named the new Regional Manager. Hmm…it is a possibility, perhaps a celebration as to why the family is coming into town?

The 30-year-old was also recently in the killer comedy, Crazy, Stupid, Love, which also starred departed cast member, Steve Carell. Look at magical connections that were made!

Who do you think should be the next star to sign on for a guest appearance?

Matt Bellamy bikes around London

It looks like Matt Bellamy is enjoying some of London’s weather by taking a brisk bike ride around North London, United Kingdom on Friday, August 19th, 2011. The new daddy and Muse frontman was spotted yesterday riding with fiance Kate Hudson around their new home in Primrose Hill.

You gotta wonder whether or not Matt purposely did his hair like that or if the wind gave him a bit of a make-over. Too cute!

Early this week, Bellamy took to his official Twitter to release a photo of Kate and their bundle of joy Bingham, who is now nearly a month and a half old.

Jennifer Garner gets dolled up on set

After a nice summer vacation with daughters Violet and Seraphina, Jennifer Garner has gone back to work. She was spotted arriving on the set of The Odd Life of Timothy Green at UCLA in Los Angeles, California on Thursday, August 18th, 2011.

Luckily she isn’t too far from home while partaking in some re-shoots, which shouldn’t take very long to complete anyways.

In the fantasy film, a childless couple named Jim (Joel Edgerton) and Cindy Green (Garner) bury a box in their backyard, containing all of their wishes for an infant. Soon, a child is born, though Timothy Green is not all that he appears.

The Odd Life of Timothy Green is set to be released in August 2012.

Is Joe Manganiello getting ready to become a stripper too?

Good LAWD have mercy on my soul! Am I to believe that in one movie I will potentially see Channing Tatum, Alex Pettyfer, Matthew McConaughey, Matt Bomer AND Joe Manganiello strip?! This is the one time I hope movie companies keep shooting movies in 3D format because I want them all on my lap!!

**Warning: This post will contain lot’s and lot’s of exclamation points!**

So the latest scoop places the hunkiest television werewolf in existence, Joe Manganiello in what is becoming the hottest movie of 2012, Magic Mike. The Hollywood Reporter confirms the thirty four year old is in talks to join the cast to play the role of Big Dick Richie. **faints….thinks about the Mark Wahlberg scene in Boogie Nights when he drops trou!!!!**

Here is more info on the plot of the movie from the report:
The flick will feature Tatum as the title character, a veteran stripper who mentors a younger dancer (I Am Number Four‘s Pettyfer) in the art of hustling. McConaughey will portray a former stripper who now owns the club, called Xquisite, where Tatum’s character works.

So while we would TOTALLY watch this movie if the entire male cast would just strip the old school way for two hours, we are glad to see there is a storyline in place.

In other Magic Mike casting news, Elvis Presley’s granddaughter Riley Keough is on-board to play Pettyfer’s girlfriend in the film. Rumor has it she beat out Lindsay Lohan, because Steven Soderbergh apparently didn’t want to deal with her drama.

Can’t say we blame him.

Filming will begin on September 14th.

Let’s celebrate with some Joe Manganiello photo spam shall we?
