PREVIEW: “Torchwood: Miracle Day” Episode 9 ‘The Gathering’

Things are heating UP on Torchwood: Miracle Day and with only two more episodes left in the season, anything can happen! I was stunned to learn that Jack’s (John Barrowman) former lover Angelo (Daniele Favilli) was still alive and how closely he had been following the Captain’s life.

And what are the secret powers that live in Jack’s blood? Is it all coincidence that a kiss from him helped Angelo be the first person on the planet to die since Miracle Day? Esther (Alexa Havins) is on the case, let’s hope she finds success in her research.

Plus, we were finally introduced to that masterminds behind “The Miracle.” The three families made a deal all those years ago, and now its up to Jack, Gwen (Eve Myles) and the crew to work this all out and make the world right again.

In the upcoming episode entitled, The Gathering, Jilly (Lauren Ambrose) reunites with the Blue Eyed Man (Teddy Sears) who informs her of her mission…..should she choose to accept it. A personal meet-and-greet with the “Three Families” is mandatory on the agenda, and “The Miracle” a plane ride away.

You are working with a company that alliances itself with a convicted pedophile and murderer Jilly! Just when I thought Miss. Kitzinger was going to redeem herself, she takes on a “promotion” from PhiCorp?!

That girl is full of ambition, and not the good kind.

Speaking of Danes, I’m very interested in the reasons why he is in Wales tormenting Gwen’s (Eve Myles) husband Rhys (Kai Owen). In the preview, that psycho claims to have the name of the person who created The Miracle. Does he think Gwen will help him in return for her finding out who is behind the curtain?

Hold on tight Rhys, because your bad azz wife is on her way home! She will most definitely know how to handle a man like Danes.

Kardashian-mania descends upon New York City

If you haven’t had enough of Kim Kardashian, sister Kourtney, new husband Kris Humphries, or little Mason Disick and happen to live in the Big Apple (or have access to the internet, television, or magazines) today is your lucky day!

The Kardashian-Humphries klan made their big entrance into New York City, New York on Monday, August 29th, 2011. Their arrival heralds the start of an all new season of Kourtney and Kim Take New York, which is set to air in March 2012. A HUGE part of season two will obviously be about the new adventures of Kimmy, who tied the knot in a lavish wedding in California on August 20th.

Also ready for their close-up are 32-year-old Kourtney and her growing son, Mason! He is just bigger and blonder each time I see him.

Visibly missing from the entourage was Kourt’s baby daddy Scott Disick. Will he be along later or are they finding a way to keep him out of the new season??

Jason Priestley digs up a Bag of Bones

So I was totally hanging out at the Peach Pit listening to some Paula Abdul on the jukebox when guess what I heard? Jason Priestley just landed a role in A&E’s mini series adaptation of Stephen King’sBag of Bones! I know right! That’s totally awesome! Priestley has been cast as the literary agent to Pierce Brosnan’s character Mike Noonan who is spending the summer at his lake house in Maine following the sudden death of his wife. Naturally the place is haunted. Also spending the summer at the lake is Melissa George (The Amityville Horror).

This makes the second Stephen King project Jason is a part of. Earlier this summer he joined the cast of SyFy’s Haven and immediately started making moves on Emily Rose. Haven is loosely based on King’s pulp novel The Colorado Kid and Jason plays a guy whose particular problem is that everyone loves him…even the dudes.

Look for Bag of Bones to start rattling around your television in 2012.

Sandra Bullock spotted with adorable guy in Los Angeles

Now if this isn’t one of Hollywood’s cutest lil’ guys ever, I don’t know who is! Superstar Sandra Bullock was photographed upon her departure from a private residence in Los Angeles, California on Monday, August 29th, 2011. In tow was her adorable son Louis, who was rocking a tiny Lacoste t-shirt and plaid shorts.

Another too-cute dude was spotted departing from the Bullock residence earlier today. It was none other than Green Lantern hunk Ryan Reynolds, who is heating up the rumor mill with relationship chatter!

The longtime friends have stated time and time again that they are not romantically involved but maybe now that both are single, they might have re-thought things out?

Plus Ryan seems like the kind of guy who wants a family so this might just end up being the perfect situation for both of them.

Hilary Duff hits the gym with a friend

23-year-old Hilary Duff is not taking her first pregnancy lying down! The actress/singer has been spotted working hard at maintaining a fitness regimen since confirming she was expecting her first child on August 14th, 2011.

In these images, she was seen picking up a friend and gearing up for a work-out in Los Angeles, California on Monday, August 29th, 2011.

Duff is currently dominating news for scoring a $100,000 payday after being dropped from the movie “The Story of Bonnie and Clyde.” Yes, homegirl gets the money and has to do NOTHING for it!

Sources close to production tell TMZ, it’s all in Hilary’s play-or-pay contract — if for some reason, production decides to terminate the actress’ employment … they’ll cough up the six-figure sum to compensate her.

To be honest, Duff got the BEST deal in town! Can someone tell me how I can get hooked up with something like this?

‘Torchwood’ star Mekhi Phifer joins Blackapella ?

With only two episodes of Torchwood: Miracle Day left in the season, it was only a matter of time before we heard about castmembers picking up side projects in the interim. It just so happens that I have some extremely exciting news to share in regards to Mekhi Phifer, who plays C.I.A. agent (and category 1) Rex Matheson on the Starz Network/BBC hit.

TV Guide has exclusively announced that Phifer will have a guest starring role in an upcoming episode of Psych!! But that is not all, the 36-year-old is set to play Drake, a member of “Blackapella,” the a cappella group Gus (Dulé Hill) belonged to in college.

When we first met the guys from Blackapella in season four during the episode “High Top Fade Out,” Tony (Jaleel White) and Joon (Kenan Thompson) came into town to investigate the death of one of their former members.

So what brings the group back together this time? Drake comes to town to honor Deacon Jones (played by guest star Cheech Marin), his mentor from childhood. But the deacon is shot while receiving the honor at the local community center, and the group steps in to help Shawn (James Roday) and Gus investigate.

The article also mentions Jaleel White will be reprising his role but there was no mention of Kenan coming back for this episode. Stop breaking up Blackapella you guys!

I’m really hoping the group will have to solve this crime by singing another tune. I’d love to hear Mekhi hit a couple of notes!

Psych returns for its sixth season on Wednesday, Oct. 12 at 10/9c on USA.

Sarah Jessica Parker channels Little Red Riding Hood at movie premiere

Let me preface this post by saying, I am a huge fan of Sarah Jessica Parker. But just because I’m a follower of someone doesn’t mean I always have to agree with their fashion choices.

I even defended SJP when she wore that funky hat to the London premiere of the first Sex and the City movie but this is just too much girl! The 46-year-old made her grand arrival at the film presentation of I Don’t Know How She Does It held at the Ritz Carlton hotel on Monday, August 28th, 2011 in Moscow, Russia. She was wearing a red, strapless Giambattista Valli gown with matching cape.

The sad thing is, the dress on its own is so pretty but the cape totally overshadowed that.

So am I totally wrong for dissing Parker? Do you guys like this look?
