Sofia Vergara and Elijah Wood show off their Happy Feet!

I can’t think of anything cuter than dancing penguins and an adorable Puffin but Elijah Wood and Sofia Vergara sure do come close! The duo were photographed at the Happy Feet Two Premiere held at The Grauman’s Chinese Theatre in Hollywood, California on Sunday, November 13th, 2011.

Joining them on the red carpet were vocal co-stars Hank Azaria, Common, Robin Williams and his new bride Susan Schneider as well as his daughter Zelda, and Pink who was joined by husband Carey Hart.

Speaking of Pink and Carey, I believe this might be their daughters first formal red carpet event! Little Willow Sage is absolutely adorable!

This animated sequel follows Mumble’s son, Erik who is struggling to realize his talents in the Emperor Penguin world. Meanwhile, Mumble and his family and friends discover a new threat their home — one that will take everyone working together to save them.

Catch Happy Feet Two when it dances its way into theaters November 18th.

REVIEW: Fringe “And Those We’ve Left Behind”

Time travel can be so problematic can’t it? Most of us would like to say that if prensented with the ability to turn back time we’d go kill Hitler, or save Kennedy, or call the ambulance for poor misunderstood Marilyn Monroe so she could grow old and make Lifetime Movies of the Week about drug addiction but in reality we’d rather rewind to a better place in our own lives and get stuck there. If I could turn back time (cue my Cher impression) I’d probably find myself in 1994 dancing to Depeche Mode on a speaker at The Masquerade. In this week’s episode of Fringe we meet Raymond (Stephen Root) who can do just that, and he’s taken the opportunity to revisit his scientist wife Kate (Romy Rosemont) before she developed Alzheimers so she can help perfect it. Isn’t that sweet?

Raymond is so focused on the matter at hand that he has no idea that his little jaunts back four years are making life miserable for everyone else. Small spheres of time displacement start appearing all over Boston and the Fringe team is convinced that it is all because of Peter, who as the consummate gentleman is ready to help and anxious to get to the bottom of things. Too bad Walter is not as enthused. He has refused to have anything to do with this version of his son and no one can blame him?

Peter (Joshua Jackson) is a resourceful lad though and he manages just fine without Walter’s help. And with some last minute sacrifices from the culprits wife they are able to ensure this won’t happen again. But this hasn’t helped Peter’s situation much at all. Walter (John Noble) still won’t even look at him and Olivia (Anna Torv) is treating him like any other random agent. She has deduced that the “other” Olivia must have meant a lot to Peter though and seems at least a little sympathetic. Peter has finally decided that his problem isn’t that no one can remember him, it’s that he is in the wrong timeline completely and now he has to figure out how to get home.

Plotting out the shifting timelines in Fringe is a daunting task. We have allocated one of the whiteboards in my office for this task and each Monday we discuss it. Now it looks like we have to add another branch to the growing tree of questions. I’m not complaining mind you, but damn this is getting to be like school with homework and book reports and what not.

I’m still wondering where Fauxlivia and Walternate have been lately. Did Peter’s return mark the spot where the timeline branched again or did he just punch through to the current timeline? Peter has no recollection of ever trying to contact Walter or Olivia from the “other side” so was that him doing it or was it some other incarnation of Peter? What if this isn’t the right Peter at all? Ugh. I have a headache now.

Fringe is back next Friday on Fox.

Jeffrey Donovan and Scott Foley get sporty in South Florida

I know all my Burn Notice folks are going to be utterly over how much access we have to Jeffrey Donovan but he is a true blue South Florida resident! When he is not busy shooting scenes for Burn Notice you can spot him all around the Miami area enjoying a meal or just hanging out locally.

This weekend, Donovan will partake in the Chris Evert/Raymond James Pro-Celebrity Tennis Classic. These images show the 43-year-old posing with fellow hottie Scott Foley before some friendly practice sessions at the Boca Raton Resort on Friday, November 11th, 2011 in Boca Raton, Florida.

Get Sofia Vergara’s Latin Grammy look by CoverGirl!

Ever since it was announce in early May that Sofia Vergara had become the newest celebrity spokesperson for CoverGirl, I couldn’t wait to see the Colombian beauty wearing some of my favorite beauty products!

That’s the thing about Sofia, when she endorses something she actually supports the product during her every day life. When the Modern Family beauty hit the green carpet last night for the 12th annual Latin GRAMMY Awards held at the Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino in Las Vegas she was rockin’ jewelry from her K-Mart collection and wearing CoverGirl make-up!

We had the chance to speak to her make-up artist Kayleen McAdams who told us what products she used to help accentuate the beauty of her glittery Reem Acra gown.

“I wanted the palette to be different shades of chocolate browns and mauves. Sofia has such beautiful warm toned skin and I used those shades to show it off!”

Here are the products that she used and some beauty tricks she used on one of the most popular actresses in Hollywood!

· First I used COVERGIRL & OLAY Simply Ageless Serum Primer for her makeup to last longer, and then I applied COVERGIRL’s NatureLuxe Foundation (#360)

· Then I used COVERGIRL Clean Oil Control Pressed Powder in Warm Beige (# 145) to reduce the brightness of the skin and have her camera ready.

· Afterwards, I used COVERGIRL’s Instant Cheekbones Contouring Blush in Refined Rose (#230) to add a soft rosy color to her already beautiful skin tone.

· Like I mentioned, I wanted to use different shades of brown, so I used COVERGIRL Queen Collection 1-Kit Eye Shadows in Hot Toffee (# Q130), mainly on her crease.

· To finish her eyes with a sexy look I used COVERGIRL Perfect Blend Eyeliner in Black/Brown and COVERGIRL LashBlast Fusion in Very Black.

· I finished the look with a nude lip color with COVERGIRL Lip Perfection in Rich (#295)

Sofia looked absolutely flawless when she went on stage to give fellow Baranquillera Shakira her “Person of the Year” honor!

Don’t you just love EVERYTHING about her?

REVIEW: American Horror Story “Piggy Piggy”

I have renewed faith in the future of American Horror Story. The Halloween two-parter reeled me back in from the brink of just saying fuck it and now I’m slowly being sucked in again. That’s not to say there weren’t some problems with “Piggy, Piggy” but they were far outweighed by the good.

I’m not going to lie. The opening minutes of “Piggy Piggy” were hard to watch. Even though it happened 12 years ago Columbine is still difficult for me to get my head around. Plus, part of me really wanted to believe that Tate (Evan Peters) didn’t kill fifteen of his classmates at Westfield High in 1994. The real mystery now is why. They certainly held nothing back here and the scene was probably the most tense and frightening thing I’ve seen on television in a while. It also showed us that Tate was gunned down in the house by the police shortly after the massacre and doesn’t seem to be at all aware he is dead.

This new information doesn’t sit well with poor misunderstood Violet (Taissa Farmiga) who is dangerously close to a psychotic meltdown of her own. One on hand she has a new BFF who has a drug problem and a fetish for Biblical horrors. On the other she has fallen for a guy who is not only dead but gunned down fifteen people for no good reason and now he’s in love with her. No wonder she fantasizes about cutting herself and winds up with a gut full of prescription sleeping pills. Thankfully her tortured boyfriend is always lurking and manages to save her from herself. She doesn’t seem too keen on the idea but can’t resist a good snuggle.

Meanwhile Vivien (Connie Britton) is too focused on her Devil baby to notice the angst party going on upstairs. Heck everyone is focused on the Devil baby lately. Moira (Frances Conroy) refuses to be fired so she can hang around to help and Constance has taken to dropping by with some nastiness called “sweetbreads” which are neither sweet nor bread like. Paula Deen would not approve. These culinary experiments in terror are “for the good of the baby” Constance tells her and Moira immediately serves them up. Vivien chows down on some fried pancreas and then gobbles up some cow brain like its pumpkin pie. Moira also offers her opinion about Ben and his cheating, something she seems to have some experience with.

Constance (Jessica Lange), while fabulous in a scary Tallulah Bankhead sort of way is the kind of neighbor that most people would file restraining orders against. She lets herself in all the time and this week goes so far as to invite her friend Billie (Sarah Paulson) over to help Violet realize her potential as a medium. Granted, she used to live in the house back when Tate was first getting trigger happy but I have to wonder why she ever sold the place if she couldn’t bear to move any further away than next door and spends more time in her old house than her new one. At any rate, Billie with the vulgar nail polish gives Violet some advice about dealing with the dead and even lets Constance chat with the poor departed Adelaide who doesn’t seem at all upset she has passed on. I guess the afterlife is more appealing than more time in her special mirrored closet.

Ben (Dylan McDermott) is back in the house treating patients because somebody has to make some money around here right? His patient this week is Derek (Eric Stonestreet from Modern Family), a man afraid of everything but especially afraid that urban legends are true and he will die because of one. The focus of his paranoia lately involves the Piggy Man who is essentially Bloody Mary in the form of an angry pig farmer from 19th century Chicago. While this new addition to the urban legend catalog was creepy in its own right it really served no purpose in the context of the episode or the copious amounts of mythology being vomited at us every week. Piggy Man would have made a very good episode of Supernatural but didn’t work at all for this. Derek’s story doesn’t end well at all but since it didn’t end in the house (and Eric Stonestreet is a busy guy) I doubt we’ll see him again. It did establish that Ben will be around the house still despite having been thrown out by Viv after his diddling with Hayden was revealed.

American Horror Story still has some kinks to work out but I think I’m sold on it finally. I still think the narrative is too disjointed and I think they need to reel it in a bit and focus, but each week the show seems a little closer to finding their groove. As for the characters, I don’t know how I feel about Tate now. His sexy angst thing is appealing but now I wonder what will happen if Violet ever does reject him. And why did he do what he did? Was it the house?

Check back in with the Harmons next Wednesday with “Open House”.
