Break out the Candies because there is a younger Carrie Bradshaw coming to The CW! The network announced today that AnnaSophia Robb will play the beloved fashionista in a Sex and the City prequel based on the Candace Bushnell novel, The Carrie Diaries.
Before she had Miranda, Samantha or Charlotte, there was Jill Thompson a.k.a ‘The Mouse’ who will be played by Ellen Wong (Scott Pilgrim vs. The World) and Katie Findlay (The Killing) who will portray Carrie’s oldest friend Maggie Landers.
The show will follow small town girl Carrie Bradshaw during her high school years in the 1980′s. Does this mean we can expect to see lots of neon and big hair? Carrie may not have met Manolo Blahnik or Christian Louboutin just yet, but I bet she is already all kids of fabulous!
We have yet to see who is cast as young Carrie’s love interest Sebastian Kydd, whom she has been “in love” with since the age of 12.
I don’t care if this show does cater to the younger girls, I am going to gobble this up! I can’t wait to see the adventures she will get into. I’d also love to see the original Carrie, Sarah Jessica Parker make a special appearance at some point!
