It looks like two new ladies are heading downstairs for season three of Downton Abbey! Cara Theobald and Lucille Sharp are joining the cast of the highly popular period drama in the role of maids.
Last week Downton also hired on a new footman by way of Warhorse actor Matt Milne. Alfred probably had an upper hand against other applicants since he is the nephew of O’Brien (Siobhan Finneran)!
Theobald is set to play a new kitchen maid called Ivy and Sharp will portray lady’s maid Miss Reid.
British publication The Sun posted the first photo of American actress Shirley MacLaine on set and in full period costume yesterday. In the third season, Ms. MacLaine comes into the picture in the role of Lady Cora’s (Elizabeth McGovern) mother.
I can’t wait to see how she gets on with the Dowager Countess of Grantham (played by Maggie Smith)!! I’m not sure Downton will be big enough to house both of these two big personalities!
