Get ready to see a whole lot of Matthew McConaughey in the weeks ahead! The Texas native was photographed getting mobbed by photographers upon his arrival into Nice Airport on Monday, May 21st, 2012 in Nice, France. Matthew arrived to participate in the 65th Cannes Film Festival where his new film, Mud will compete for the coveted Palme d’Or on May 26th, 2012.
The Jeff Nichols directed drama tells the story of an unlikely friendship between a fugitive (McConaughey) and Ellis (Tye Sheridan) a 14-year-old boy who helps him escape off an island in Mississippi, evade the law and bounty hunters, so he can reunite with his sweetheart Juniper (Reese Witherspoon).
The film also stars Sarah Paulson, Michael Shannon, and Sam Shepard.
What? Did you think Magic Mike would be debuting at Cannes? It would totally get my vote but I’m not sure the high-class festival is ready for all the hotness that McConaughey, Joe Manganiello, Matt Bomer, Adam Rodriguez, and Channing Tatum would bring!
