Jonathan Rhys Meyers becomes the undead in NBC’s Dracula

Ever since The Tudors went off the air, I’ve been waiting for Jonathan Rhys Meyers to return to the small screen. Now thanks to NBC, our boy will be making a comeback in the role of Count Dracula in the new series, Dracula!

Here is the scoop from Deadline.com:

In the NBC/Sky Living series, Dracula (Meyers) arrives in London, posing as an American entrepreneur who maintains that he wants to bring modern science to Victorian society. In reality, he hopes to wreak revenge on the people who ruined his life centuries earlier but falls hopelessly in love with a woman who seems to be a reincarnation of his dead wife. “It is a timeless tale with relevant, surprising twists and turns with the exquisite Jonathan Rhys Meyers in the marquee role,” Universal TV EVP Bela Bajaria said.

With zombies trying to take over the airwaves, I’m SO happy to welcome more vampires to my tv schedule–especially one that looks like JRM! Are you excited to see him back on television?

Thank you NBC!
