Have you guys recovered yet from last nights thrilling season premiere of Sons of Anarchy? It was great to live Tweet with many of you and hear your different view points about many of the important plot points set up for the remainder of the season.
There are SO many things I want to discuss but I feel that the biggest moment that needs to be addressed before anything else relates to our boy Tig (Kim Coates). A fan favorite, Twitter went afire the moment Tig’s daughter Dawn was burned to death by S5 baddie Damian Pope (Lost‘s Harold Perrineau).
“Don’t Let the Nice Suit Fool You,” Pope said in the season premiere and he wasn’t kidding. I don’t want to agree with his evil doings but he was getting revenge for the death of his own daughter who was killed by Tig as revenge for Clay’s (Ron Perlman) alleged attempted murder. And since we all know that it was really Opie (Ryan Hurst) who shot Clay in retaliation for the murder of his father Piney (William Lucking), this now adds one more person to the list of folks who want Clay dead.
Speaking of Clay, isn’t it ironic how much he reminds audiences of Piney now? He looks pathetic with his oxygen bag, barely able to scoot around and keep up with the SAMCRO boys. Holding up the weight of his motorcycle is also out of the question so whatever will he do now?
I didn’t understand why creator Kurt Sutter didn’t kill off Clay last season but it’s all so clear to me now. Someone like Clay needs to be deconstructed, dying would just be too good for him.
There are other huge points that you can tell with be themes throughout the season. The push/pull battle between Gemma (Katey Sagal) and daughter-in-law Tara (Maggie Siff) is going into overtime. That might not be a good thing now that it looks like Jax (Charlie Hunnam), Tig, and Chibs (Tommy Flanagan) are headed to jail.
Before any of that goes down however, the Sons end up having a sleepover at Gemma’s new lover Nero’s (Jimmy Smits) house, as we saw at the end of “Sovereign”. I have a really bad feeling about Nero’s affiliation with the club and I fear what he will want in return for housing the guys while they are running from the law.
They owe him big, and I do not doubt that he will one day cash in on that favor but at what price?
I could talk for days on the topic of Sons of Anarchy but I must share with you all the new video preview for next weeks episode entitled, Authority Vested. I can promise you all one thing, even though so much bad is going down, one good thing will happen in episode two. (The title of the episode pretty much gives it away!)
That is all I’m going to say because I don’t want crazy Otto knocking on my door! Tune in to an all new episode of Sons of Anarchy Tuesday nights at 10pm only on FX.
P.S. How awesome was Russell Brand during the pre-show? Sutter needs to book the British bad boy as a guest star right?!
