Hispanic Heritage Month Trailblazer: Angel Franco

To celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month we are collaborating with Being Latino, Best Buy, and various brands you know and trust, to highlight a Latino Trailblazer daily for the next few weeks. Some of the names you might recognize, but others you may be hearing about for the first time, or learning more about.

Thanks to XBOX 360, today we would like to honor Pulitzer Prize winning photographer Angel Franco.  Born in the South Bronx, New York in 1951, Angel began his career as a professional photographer at the age of 18.   He purchased his first camera with his first paycheck from the United States Navy.

In addition to still photography, Angel has filmed documentary videos for the Discovery Times channel on subjects in Brazil, Ireland, and New York as well as a video report on Guantanamo’s detainees for the News Hour. The documentary short “Louie Rivera searches for his wife-9/11″ was aired on The New York Times Web site.
