For Hispanic Heritage Month, I was offered a unique opportunity to work with Best Buy and Panasonic “Mi Best Buy, Mi Cultura” campaign which generously provided me a special product that would help me celebrate my cultura. On the surface, you might wonder how a television can help me become closer to my culture, but when you realize how much technology has evolved, the points will become obvious.
My new Smart Viera Plasma 50” HDTV television has many great features including my #1, the VIERA Connect function which allows you to add applications to your television. One of the apps available was Skype! I have family scattered throughout the world including Peru, Germany, and Spain and having that special face-to-face time is so important. Yes, you can accomplish this on a computer but because of the size of the television, I can have my mother, brother and cousins over to enjoy the experience on a much bigger level.
This is especially great during holidays and birthdays!
Speaking of holidays, most Hispanic families look forward to time off to spend together. One of our favorite pastimes is watching movies together, and with my old 27″ inch tube television set you can imagine the experience wasn’t as comfortable as it is now! My family can spread out in front of the television and enjoy our favorite films with some of the highest technology available on the market.

I have always been a big fan of gadgets. Armed with my Smart Viera Plasma 50” HDTV television, I can plug in my video camera or the media card from my point-and-shoot and everyone in the room is able to watch comfortably. My brother recently went on a trip to visit our family in Peru and it was so nice to be able to have the family watch the footage together.
Best Buy has over 1,000 stores in the US with Spanish-speaking sales associates in more than 300 locations. Just visit your local store and ask for a Spanish speaking associate, they are always there to help!
