If you are reading this, there is a huge chance that you were one of the 1.75 million record-breaking viewers watching Homeland last night! I had no idea how the writers on this show would be able to top the drama and overall insanity they produced last year for season one but they have truly gone above and beyond with season two.

It’s no wonder that Showtime’s President of Entertainment David Nevins has announced they are picking up Homeland for another season!

“The Emmy wins for HOMELAND have certainly set the stage for a great second season,” said Nevins. “The writers, cast and crew of HOMELAND continue to create a remarkably entertaining and suspenseful roller coaster ride, growing audiences week after week. We can’t wait for our viewers to experience what unfolds through the rest of season two. Our partners at Fox 21 have been tremendous, and we are thrilled to begin the planning for HOMELAND’s third season.”

Things are just starting to get extremely intense now that Carrie (Claire Danes) told Agent Brody (Damian Lewis) she has confirmed his terrorist affiliations and had him taken into custody. At this point, he still is not aware of the severity of it all because he is sure that there is no proof.

Just wait until episode six, entitled “New Car Smell”, where he is truly confronted with all his secrets. I feel bad for his wife Jessica (Morena Baccarin) who cannot be prepared for anything that is to come. If she thought finding out about Brody becoming Muslim or discovering his affair with Carrie was a big deal, just wait!

The series also stars Mandy Patinkin, David Harewood, Diego Klattenhoff, Jackson Pace, Morgan Saylor, Jamey Sheridan, David Marciano and Navid Negahban.
