Mundo Fox premiered their newest drama series Corazones Blindados on Monday to much fanfare! The show stars Andrés Sandoval and Majida Issa as police officers in Bogota Colombia’s Metropolitan Police Force. You follow their struggles between their eternal duty to fight crime and the personal problems they face on a daily basis.

Corazones Blindados, which translates to Armored Hearts, follows on-duty, Officers Raúl Ávila (@AndrSandoval) and Diana Ochoa (@MajidaIssa1) meet. At the beginning their relationship is off to a rocky start, but with time, these colleagues fall in love. It’s the beginning of a unique love story, a modern take on police partners that revolves around workplace romance, strong, single working women, passionate policemen packed with drama and action.

Each daily one hour episode was shot on location in high-definition in Bogotá. The series also has special scenes shot at the National School of Operations (CENOP), the military academy where Special Forces from Colombia and other countries train.

Here is a little background on our lead characters:

Officer Raúl Ávila is played by Andrés Sandoval

Raúl Ávila decides to become a Police Officer after witnessing the death of his father, a respected Sergeant. His main goal is to find father’s killer. Raúl graduates with honors as a Lieutenant Coronel and is assigned to Mártires, one of the worst crime-ridden areas of Bogota, where middle class families mix with refugees of criminal organizations, brothels and drug dealers in an area known as the ‘Bronx’.

Officer Diana Ochoa is played by Majida Issa

Officer Diana Ochoa is a righteous and honorable woman who has decided to put her love life on hold until she finds out the whereabouts of her daughter’s father, the non-commissioned officer, Vicente Yáñez. Vicente was kidnaped by guerillas six years ago. Once hope is lost for Vicente’s return, Diana decides to put aside her sorrow and give into her feelings for Raúl. Destiny, however, has something else in store for them. Vicente is found safe and sound and comes back into Diana’s life.
