Gael Garcia Bernal strikes a pose in Madrid for “No”

'No' Madrid Photocall

On a relatively chilly day, Mexican star Gael Garcia Bernal posed for photographers at a photocall for his latest film NO held at Golem Cinemas on February 7, 2013 in Madrid, Spain. Joining Gael in promoting the project is director Pablo Larraín who also served as the films producer.

Based on a true story, when Chilean military dictator Augusto Pinochet, facing international pressure, calls for a referendum on his presidency in 1988, opposition leaders persuade a brash young advertising executive, Rene Saavedra (Bernal), to spearhead their campaign. With scant resources and constant scrutiny by the despot’s watchmen, Saavedra and his team devise an audacious plan to win the election and free their country from oppression.

Lest we forget to mention that No has been nominated for Best Foreign Language Film at the 85th Academy Awards! Keeping my fingers cross chicos! You can catch the film on the big screen on February 15th.
