Shakira and Gerard Pique Throw Global Babyshower and You’re Invited!

I can’t think of a sweeter way to celebrate the upcoming birth of a baby than by sharing it will less fortunate children all over the world? None of this comes as a surprise from Colombian superstar Shakira, who has selflessly given of her time and influence to fight for the underprivileged for many years.

Her baby boy with boyfriend Gerard Pique could arrive at any time and with both being extremely successful, you can bet their bundle of joy will have everything he needs. So the power couple is kicking off a global baby shower where fans and well wishers can donate to UNICEF, a children’s charity that Shakira has been a global ambassador for since 2003.

“To celebrate the arrival of our first child, we hope that, in his name, other less privileged children in the world can have their basic needs covered through gifts and donations,” the couple said. “Every expectant parent around the world shares all the same hopes and dreams for their children that we do. Yet many don’t share the same opportunities. Together we know we can change that.”

“Thank you for sharing this unforgettable moment with us.”

Shakira confirms she’s expecting a baby boy!

After months of avoiding confirmation of even a pregnancy, it seems our girl Shakira let the sex of her unborn baby slip on a German television show! In late September, the Colombian superstar told the world she was expecting a baby with longtime boyfriend Gerard Pique but would not divulge further information including the sex or the due date.

I’m not sure if it’s the excitement of impending motherhood that changed her mind, but we are happy to spread the joyous news!

“It’s gonna be a boy,” the 35-year-old told German TV station RTL. “This guy (Pique) is the best thing that ever happened to me in my whole life. And now we are having a baby!”

Shakira is known all over the world, not just for her hip shaking music with addictive beats, but for the passionate philanthropic work she so selflessly supports. During her interview, she mentioned how she plans to pass this trait on to her son.

“When the baby is born, I’ll take him with me on charity trips. He shall learn that he is able to change the world.”

Reports suggest Shakira is 6 months along in her pregnancy so you can imagine fans will be on baby watch throughout the spring! Congrats to the happy couple!

Shakira is pregnant with Gerard Pique’s baby! Her daddy confirms big news!!

If there is one rumor that I am beyond elated at its truth is that our girl Shakira is pregnant with her first baby! Though her rep denied the claims in the past, during a recent interview in Colombia, her father William has reportedly confirmed the hip shakin’ superstar is expecting her first child with soccer hunk Gerard Pique!

Yes there are a lot of exclamation points in this story because I am a big fan of both and think they will have quite a beautiful baby! Here is what Mr. Mebarak had to say about her daughters relationship with Piqué.

“We are satisfied with the current relationship,” Mebarak said in an interview on Colombian TV show, “The Other Vision.” “It is a relationship that is 100 percent happiness, it makes them happy. What makes them happy makes me happy.”
“The happiness of our daughter is reflected in us too and we are very happy,” he continued. “He is a valuable young man.”

“Hopefully the news will be made official soon,” he added.

A source has gone on record saying Shakira is as far as 6 months along in her pregnancy but is waiting to make the news public. The “Hips Don’t Lie” singer was photographed most recently supporting the Spanish footballer Euro 2012.

Score romantic curls this Valentine’s Day with tips from Pantene

With Valentine’s Day only hours away, I wanted to share with you a special video produced by Pantene showing you how to get romantic waves that are sure to get your sweetie excited! Celebrity hairstylist Carlos Vera was on-hand for a special shoot in Miami last week where I was chosen as their special model for the video.

I am ever so grateful to Pantene for honoring me with such a fun project and to Carlos Vera for teaching me how to add body to my stick straight hair!

Carlos, whose magic hands have worked on Thalia and Shakira (to name a few), first washed my hair before adding products from their medium/thick collection. Here are the details about the products and technique used on me from the press release followed by the fabulous video.

Rosy’s look is inspired by the sexy and voluminous hair of our Pantene ambassador, actress Eva Mendes. Rosy is a smart woman with a lively personality and she has medium to thick hair which is the most common hair type among Latinas.

Start by washing hair with Pantene Normal to Thick Moisture Renewal Shampoo and Conditioner. Then, on hair still damp apply the Split End Repair Keratin Protection Crème to prevent split ends, followed by the Flowing Body Mousse to add body. After blow drying hair, use a curling iron to create waves and pin set each section. Once hair is completely pin set, use a diffuser’s heat to lock in more volume without touching the hair. Finally, remove all pins, and use a wide-tooth comb to loosen the waves.

Get Sofia Vergara’s Latin Grammy look by CoverGirl!

Ever since it was announce in early May that Sofia Vergara had become the newest celebrity spokesperson for CoverGirl, I couldn’t wait to see the Colombian beauty wearing some of my favorite beauty products!

That’s the thing about Sofia, when she endorses something she actually supports the product during her every day life. When the Modern Family beauty hit the green carpet last night for the 12th annual Latin GRAMMY Awards held at the Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino in Las Vegas she was rockin’ jewelry from her K-Mart collection and wearing CoverGirl make-up!

We had the chance to speak to her make-up artist Kayleen McAdams who told us what products she used to help accentuate the beauty of her glittery Reem Acra gown.

“I wanted the palette to be different shades of chocolate browns and mauves. Sofia has such beautiful warm toned skin and I used those shades to show it off!”

Here are the products that she used and some beauty tricks she used on one of the most popular actresses in Hollywood!

· First I used COVERGIRL & OLAY Simply Ageless Serum Primer for her makeup to last longer, and then I applied COVERGIRL’s NatureLuxe Foundation (#360)

· Then I used COVERGIRL Clean Oil Control Pressed Powder in Warm Beige (# 145) to reduce the brightness of the skin and have her camera ready.

· Afterwards, I used COVERGIRL’s Instant Cheekbones Contouring Blush in Refined Rose (#230) to add a soft rosy color to her already beautiful skin tone.

· Like I mentioned, I wanted to use different shades of brown, so I used COVERGIRL Queen Collection 1-Kit Eye Shadows in Hot Toffee (# Q130), mainly on her crease.

· To finish her eyes with a sexy look I used COVERGIRL Perfect Blend Eyeliner in Black/Brown and COVERGIRL LashBlast Fusion in Very Black.

· I finished the look with a nude lip color with COVERGIRL Lip Perfection in Rich (#295)

Sofia looked absolutely flawless when she went on stage to give fellow Baranquillera Shakira her “Person of the Year” honor!

Shakira honored as “Person of the Year” in Las Vegas

Talk about it being a great time to be Shakira! Fresh from a ceremony honoring her with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, the Colombian born beauty was honored at the 2011 Latin Recording Academy “Person Of The Year” tribute dinner held at the Mandalay Bay Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada on November 9th, 2011.

The star-studded event was attended by Paulina Rubio, Alejandra Guzman, Natalia Jimenez, Marc Anthony, Lili Estefan and Victor Manuelle. But the two people who sat on either side of Shakira seemed to bring her the biggest smile: her parents William Mebarak Chadid and Nidia Ripoll.

Throughout the celebration, some of the biggest names in music paid homage to Shakira performing songs from her career much to her delight. This included a special performance from her father William who sang Mi Niña Bonita to his little girl.

I can’t describe how much I love Shakira for all the amazing work she does for the world, not just with her music, but via her Pies Descalzos Foundation whose mission is to make education universally available to every child.

The Latin Grammy organization could not have picked a more deserving individual!

Shakira honored with star on the Walk of Fame

It’s Official! Hip-shakin’ Latina superstar Shakira has become the first Colombian to be honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame! She playfully posed on the California sidewalk with the 2,454th star in celebration as photographers went nuts on Tuesday, November 8th, 2011.

Proudly by her side for the ceremony were her parents Nidia Ripoll and William Mebarak Chadid.

“This is incredible,” said the 34-year-old. “I would like to thank all of you.”

A statement released by the Hollywood Chamber, Shakira was honored today for her “accomplishments as a singer, songwriter, musician, record producer, dancer and philanthropist.”

Get ready to see a lot more of this blond beauty as she heads to Las Vegas later this week where she will be honored as “Person of the Year” by the Latin Grammy’s.
