POSTER: Matthew Fox and Tommy Lee Jones in “Emperor”

emperor matthew fox

If you’ve been missing Lost hottie Matthew Fox as much as I have, you will be elated to see the official poster for his new film, Emperor co-starring Tommy Lee Jones! A gripping tale of love and honor forged between fierce enemies of war, EMPEROR tells the story, inspired by true events, of the bold and secret moves that won the peace in the shadows of post-war Japan.

Starring Academy Award-winner Tommy Lee Jones, Matthew Fox, and newcomer Eriko Hatsune, EMPEROR brings to life the American occupation of Japan in the perilous and unpredictable days just after Emperor Hirohito’s World War II surrender. As General Douglas MacArthur (Jones) suddenly finds himself the de facto ruler of a foreign nation, he assigns an expert in Japanese culture – General Bonner Fellers (Fox), to covertly investigate the looming question hanging over the country: should the Japanese Emperor, worshiped by his people but accused of war crimes, be punished or saved?

Emperor
hits theaters March 8th, 2013. Check out the poster below!

Gael Garcia Bernal strikes a pose in Madrid for “No”

'No' Madrid Photocall

On a relatively chilly day, Mexican star Gael Garcia Bernal posed for photographers at a photocall for his latest film NO held at Golem Cinemas on February 7, 2013 in Madrid, Spain. Joining Gael in promoting the project is director Pablo Larraín who also served as the films producer.

Based on a true story, when Chilean military dictator Augusto Pinochet, facing international pressure, calls for a referendum on his presidency in 1988, opposition leaders persuade a brash young advertising executive, Rene Saavedra (Bernal), to spearhead their campaign. With scant resources and constant scrutiny by the despot’s watchmen, Saavedra and his team devise an audacious plan to win the election and free their country from oppression.

Lest we forget to mention that No has been nominated for Best Foreign Language Film at the 85th Academy Awards! Keeping my fingers cross chicos! You can catch the film on the big screen on February 15th.

Boost Your Beauty Routine and Be Ready for Spring!

photo_1

I don’t know about you girls but when winter comes around I tend to slack a bit when it comes to my beauty routine. I’ve been wearing lots of cute hats, pants and flats so you can only imagine where I’ve been cutting corners, am I right? With spring just around the corner, I’ve begun tweaking my diet (hello bikini season!) and going over my beauty routine to see what needs to be improved. It got me thinking that many of you are probably going through the same and could benefit from some of the changes I’ve made.

First I needed to tackle the grey hairs that keep making an appearance in my close-up photographs. My dad had salt and pepper hair by his late teens and I surprisingly inherited this trait from him in my early twenties. Hair dye will always be a part of my life and finding the right one can be tricky. Since I only get grey hair on top, I use Clairol Nice ‘n Easy Root Touch-Up in Black. There is no point in dying my entire head of hair when only a handful of hair needs to go back to black.

The process takes 10 minutes and lasts up to three weeks!

Another hair woe is dandruff which that won’t let up until temperatures get a lot warmer. Those pesky white flakes really annoy me so I’ve been using Head & Shoulders new Damage Rescue Collection which nurtures the scalp and leaves hair up to 10X stronger in just four washes. The conditioner was specifically developed to help dry/damaged hair by retaining moisture and improving hair flexibility.

Speaking of moisture, the colder temperatures have not only reduced moisture in my scalp but also on my body. Olay’s Ultra Moisture Body Wash gently cleanses skin with their soap-free formula while the shea butter moisturizes even the driest skin for up to 24 hours. Did I mention it smells delicious too?!

Now to tackle the most embarrassing topic of them all, shaving. I haven’t worn a dress since November and I will admit to you all that I haven’t been shaving my legs all that regularly. EEK! I know, but don’t judge me! I like to tell myself that that extra bit of hair on my legs keeps me a little warmer. But with spring upon us, I won’t be able to separate from my Venus + Olay razor. I never need to purchase shaving cream as long as I have my favorite razor (Sugarberry is my favorite!). It also works great on your bikini line! BONUS!

What are some of your favorite products that will help you welcome the spring?

Sylvester Stallone battles Jason Momoa in “Bullet to the Head”

HSD-04623rv2_1

Growing up as a kid in the 80′s and 90′s, I was a huge fan of action star Sylvester Stallone. It’s amazing to see him all these years later coming back better than ever in the Warner Bros. film Bullet to the Head. I had the chance to preview the movie last week ahead of a press day with co-star Sarah Shahi today and it had the perfect combination of action, drama, and comedy! Oh, and don’t let me forget to mention the hotness that comes via Jason Momoa!

WOOH! Definitely better looking than in Game of Thrones and even better than when he was in Conan the Barbarian!

HSD-03779_1

But I digress……

In Bullet to the Head, Stallone stars as hitman Jimmy Bobo who after being hell bent on revenge, teams up with a DC detective (played by Sung Kang) to bring down the bad guys. At first, they have no idea who they are up against but one-by-one, Stallone proves he’s still a bad ass!

Shahi stars as Bobo’s daughter, a tattoo artist who helps out her pop even though they were never really close. Stallone even has some funny one-liners that even rivals fellow veteran action star Arnold Schwarzenegger! (You had me at F@ck You!)

Bullet to the Head hits theaters February 1st, 2012.
