KeSARI Beauty bring exotic treatments from the East to South Beach

I’m one of those people that needs to be forced to relax. So when KeSARI Beauty reached out to me to try out their products during a special media event at the Delano’s Agua Spa, I was extremely excited!

Here is what I learned going in about KeSARI, which means saffron in Indian.

KeSARI is a skincare collection inspired by the mystery and wonder of India and its traditional beauty rituals. By combining Indian spices and herbs with modern technology, we bring you a spa menu that unites 5,000 years of tradition— bringing harmony to mind, body, and soul.

Agua at Delano offers various treatments to be used in conjunction with KeSARI’s line of all-natural products including the KeSARI Saffron Glow Facial (60 minutes $170), the Imperial KeSARI Massage (60 minutes $170), the Herbal Detox Body Restoration (60 minutes $180), Royal KeSARI Blowout ($90 – $170), and the KeSARI Renewal Manicure & Pedicure (90 minutes $110).

KeSARI beauty event held at Agua @ Delano

While sipping on Mimosa’s, I enjoyed the KeSARI Renewal Manicure and mini hand massage alongside fellow writers Michele from Social Miami and Liana from LuvLi.

An essential oil was chosen that was related to my Dosha—the Ayurvedic way to determine your body type. My therapist helped me decide between Vata, Pitta, or Kapha—the three Indian Dosha’s that all need different oils to either calm, energize or balance them. I am a Vata and was in desperate need of balance!

The oils were combined with the KeSARI body oil to customize my massage, and was added to my scrub to work those properties to the treatment. To finish the manicure, my therapist painted my nails with a vibrant pink color perfect for summer.

This would make for the perfect gift for moms this Mother’s Day, because who deserves a little rest and relaxation more than her?! You can find the KeSARI beauty treatments in Miami only at Agua, located at 1685 Collins Avenue, Miami Beach Florida. They are open from 9AM-9PM daily.

To book an appointment, call 305-674-6100.

*Disclosure: I was treated to a manicure and hand massage courtesy of KeSARA as well as products to try out. My opinions are my own.

Ladies: If you have been having trouble finding clothes that get you excited about the spring/summer season–look no further!

Banana Republic has released a special sneak peek of Trina Turk’s capsule collection featuring Canadian model Coco Rocha. Known for her fun prints and bright colors, Turk’s collaboration with Banana Republic is the perfect combination of covetable style with affordable prices. The 60-piece line, which hits stores and their online marketplace on June 7th, won’t have a price tag larger than $185.00!

“We went into our archives, and we probably started with about 30 prints that we felt were iconic Trina Turk prints that had that Palm Springs feeling,” Turk said in an interview with USA Today. “Then it really became an editing process where we worked with the Banana Republic design team to narrow it down to what we feel are the best of the best, which are five prints.”

Below I have included all the images currently available for preview. I’d love to hear which ones are your favorites!

Alexander Skarsgard: Why so serious?

With his popularity on the small and big screen at an all-time high, why is Alexander Skarsgard looking so serious on the blue carpet? One could guess that since his #1 Fan, ie me, was not present that this would be enough for the Swedish stud to look so glum.

But regardless of the reason, I’m always happy to see new photos of the True Blood hunk– especially in that stunning Tom Ford suit! He made a special appearance at the premiere Of Universal Pictures’ ‘Battleship’ held at The Nokia Theatre L.A. Live on Thursday, May 10th, 2012 in Los Angeles, California.

Joining him for the occasion were his co-stars Rihanna, Brooklyn Decker, Taylor Kitsch, and Liam Neeson.

I was happy to see Rihanna out-and-about after she ended up in the hospital earlier this week. There have been a variety of reasons given for her hospitalization including exhaustion and flu-like symptoms. Friends are reportedly worried about her having drug or alcohol issues and want her to go to rehab.

I love RiRi and hope she gets the help she needs, even if its just a nice vacation!

She did rock the carpet in a flowy white dress from Adam Selman and sexy heels from Manolo Blahnik. Decker also kept her ensemble neutral in a Dior dress.

Oh by the way, ASkars didn’t stay grumpy the whole time! It looks like all he needed was to be around his biggest fans to perk him right up!

Battleship hits theaters on May 18th.

Hot trends from the MET Gala at prices you can afford!

In what is being called the Superbowl or Olympics of the fashion world, the ‘Schiaparelli And Prada: Impossible Conversations’ Costume Institute Gala took place at the Metropolitan Museum of Art was held on May 7th, 2012 in New York City. Some of the hottest names from the world of cinema, television, fashion and even sports stepped out in ensembles that will set the trends for months to come!

She was named the “World’s Most Beautiful Woman” by People Magazine earlier this year, and Beyonce Knowles proved to the world how she earned that title on the red carpet last night. The 30-year-old wore a very revealing, body hugging Givenchy couture gown which featured black lace and a trim of purple feathers.

Others rocking the feather trend were Diane Kruger (in Prada), Kate Bosworth (in Prada), and Cate Blanchett (in Alexander McQueen). These dresses easily cost thousands of dollars but we found three options that will cost you well under $1,000. They are from Alice + Olivia, Theory, and Rare Opulence.

Feather Dresses

Jessica Alba and Cameron Diaz were golden girls at the gala showing off the biggest trend of the event–mettalics! Alba wore a one-shoulder Michael Kors gown while Ms. Diaz wore a Stella McCartney dress that reportedly weighed over 30 pounds!

Another big trendsetter of the night was Camilla Belle who not only wore a Ralph Lauren gown that commanded jaws to hit the floor but also a dark wine lip color that was echoed by Lana Del Rey, Leighton Meester, and the aforementioned Bosworth.

Here are some affordable-yet-sparkly gowns for your next party or event. There are two from Aidan Mattox and one from J. Crew.

To achieve the dark lip, try L’Oreal’s Infallible Le Rouge in Bold Bordeaux ($9.95).

Peplum and various shades of bright orange are two trends that have been going on strong for some time now. Pantene spokesperson Eva Mendes decided the occasion was worthy of wearing both trends. As you can see from the photo above, Eva wore a tangerine Prada gown. I really love Eva but I wasn’t really feeling this dress on her. The color is fab but I don’t think the ensemble really did her body any favors.

Other beauties rockin’ peplum were Sofia Vergara, January Jones, and Elizabeth Banks.

Here are ways you can dip your toes into the peplum and/or orange pool without breaking the bank. You can even be like Eva and do both! Dresses are from Jessica Simpson, Cut 25, and Tracy Reese.

What were some of your favorite looks from last night?

La Côte at the Fontainebleau takes oceanside dining to a whole other level!

Are you looking for a place where the food, service and location will exceed your expectations? La Côte at the Fontainebleau is the spot where you can enjoy delectable French Mediterranean cuisine with sweeping views of beautiful South Beach.

All the photos in this post were taken by me during lunch last week and my only wish is that I could somehow share the delicious flavors of each dish with you virtually. But since I can’t, I want all you Miami folks out there (and those of you planning a trip to our sunny oasis) to pay a visit to La Côte and Chef de Cuisine Christina Coupet who will ensure you have an amazing dining experience.

Chef Christina picked a variety of her best lunch options for me to sample and each one was better than the next. We started off with the Hamachi Ceviche (photo above left) that was flavored with lemon and coriander oil. After growing up in a Peruvian household, I feel I can call myself an expert on ceviche and this one was delish!

Following up next we tried the Seared Haloumi Cheese Dish which had cherry tomatoes, pine nuts, and an oregano lemon vinaigrette. If you are a fan of cheese, I highly recommend this item. The dressing was also so good I was hoping a bottle of it would be available for sale so I could have it more often but alas I will happily just have to go to La Cote more often!

Seared Haloumi Cheese

Their Tomato Salad wasn’t far behind and was sprinkled with fried feta, basil and a side of balsamic vinegar and olive oil. This dish was also very good but I think after having so many tomatoes with my Haloumi Cheese plate that I was wasn’t prepared for more.

This would be the perfect dish however if someone is looking to enjoy a light healthy lunch on its own.

The salad was followed by the Vegetable Pissaladiere (Photo, top right) which was grilled flatbread with caramelized onions, goat cheese, olives, roasted tomatoes and mixed greens. This is the perfect example of a dish I would have never picked out for myself but totally took me by surprise!

The star of the Pissaladiere is really the goat cheese which gives you a punch of flavor just as you take a bite.

Our final dish of the afternoon was the Seared Scallops with snap peas and crispy shallots. Did someone tell Chef Christina scallops are my favorite??!! Yeah this dish definitely a highligh and I know you will enjoy it just as much if you are a fan of seafood.

Seared Scallops

Throughout lunch, I sampled two varieties of their sangria– the Sancerre & Pear White Sangria and the Côte de Provence Rosé Sangria. I don’t want to pick a favorite because they are each SO different but I did prefer the Rosé version.

There was no way Chef Christina would let us get away without sampling a bit of dessert no matter how full we said we were! So she sent over a Quatro Leches– a coconut biscuit topped with salted caramel ice cream.

Quatro Leches

It goes without saying but I didn’t have dinner that night. I was so full and happy!! :)

La Côte is located poolside next to the Ocean Lawn and is open for lunch & early dinner fom 11 AM – 6 PM daily and dinner from 6 PM – 9 PM Thursday – Saturday. If you want to experience the stunning view of the ocean, make sure you request a seat upstairs.

For more information, click here for their website or call (305) 674 – 4710 for a reservation.

*Disclosure: I was treated to lunch at La Côte for review purposes. All opinions are my own.
