I’m not the only one who wants Aretha’s hat?

Inauguration Arethas Hat
Ever since I first saw Aretha Franklin at the Presidential Inauguration I fell in love…..with her hat! I do not even remember her performance but I will never forget that hat!

Now the Smithsonian is calling. They already have acquired First Lady Michelle Obama’s ballgown and now they want Aretha’s hat, the original for their collection.

“I am considering it. It would be hard to part with my chapeau since it was such a crowning moment in history. I would like to smile every time I look back at it and remember what a great moment it was in American and African-American history. Ten cheers for President Obama,” she said in a statement, according to New York Magazine.

I feel you Aretha, I would NOT want to part with that historic hat. Luke Song, hook a sista up!

Star Trek: Superbowl Ad

I am not a fan of “Star Trek” but I am quite excited to see this film! One of the main reasons is Zachary Quinto from “Heroes.” He is a total bad ass!!

Check out the quick yet exciting Superbowl promo for “Star Trek.” It hits theaters May 8, 2009.

Keanu Reeves grabs a bite

Keanu Reeves was spotted dining at new restaurant “Via Alloro” in Beverly Hills earlier today. The “Matrix” star and his sister Kim enjoyed the food and wine at the new Italian bistro.

It must suck sometimes to be a celebrity. Being caught on film cleaning food out from between your teeth!

One of the only reasons I will be tuning into the Superbowl this evening is to watch the return performance of Jennifer Hudson. All I can say is, Wow! She looked and sounded amazing.

I hope that she continues to heal and has found peace in her heart. Go girl!

So much for Michael Bay thinking it wouldn’t be online until after the game.

Lisa Loeb ties the knot!

lisaloebSinger Lisa Loeb has tied the knot with Roy Hershkovitz , music supervisor for “Late Night with Conan O’Brien” this evening at Brasserie 8 ½, a restaurant in New York.  The couple met two years ago when he interviewed Lisa to host a cooking show he was pitching entitled, “5 of 1,”about how five restaurants prepare a particular dish.

By the end of the meeting Lisa was smitten.

“I had a crush on my meeting,” she said

The couple exchanged vows in a Jewish ceremony in front of 275 guests. The bride wore a strapless pink wedding gown by Amsale Blue Label and the groom wore a suit by Paul Smith.

Congrats!

British comedian Ricky Gervais can add puppet singer to his resume. The “Ghost Town” actor is revealing that he is going to be serenading Elmo on an upcoming episode of “Sesame Street.”

“They’ve let me write a song. I can’t give too much away but I’m singing to Elmo,” said Gervais. “Can’t believe my luck. Being paid to go to New York to sing to a furry little thing. As I’ve said before, all my little friends are freaks.”

The star who in 2006 Ricky serenaded Marge on an episode of “The Simpsons,” will film his Sesame Street spot in New York next month.
