Hey Barbs! Nicki Minaj signs deal for first fragrance!

With all the worry we are experiencing after Nicki Minaj abruptly quit Twitter, it is great to hear some good news about her. WWD broke news his morning that the 29-year-old has partnered up with, Give Back Brands, to release her first fragrance!

Give Back Brands, who most recently partnered with Justin Bieber for his debut scent “Someday,” will unveil the perfume this fall at all your favorite department stores.

“I have always been a huge fan of great fragrances; this is yet another extension of my creative expression and I can’t wait to share it with the world,” Minaj said via a press release. I designed this scent and bottle with my Barbz in mind.”

I hope Nicki is feeling much better after all the stress of promotions and will come back into the limelight to tell us her ideas for her debut scent!

Make-Up Monday Feature: Clinique’s Runway Coral Lipstick

Spring has sprung at Clinique counters with their newest limited edition lipstick–Runway Coral. The vivid beauty made its original debut during Karen Walker’s Spring 2012 show at New York Fashion Week and was so popular the brand decided to make it available to women everywhere!

My favorite thing about Runway Coral is how wearable the shade is on a day-to-day basis. It’s feminine and flirty but no so intense that I’m worried about it smearing.

When Clinique’s Global Color Artist, Jenna Menard created the color for New Zealander Karen Walker, she had a very specific look in mind.

“Karen wanted the models to look youthful and feminine with a sophisticated twist,” explains Jenna Menard. “So I kept the eye very simple, the cheeks healthy and then went for a strong, vibrant lip. I chose bright coral because it’s less expected than red.”

Jenna suggests ladies let lips be the focus this spring and pair the lipstick with “youthful looking cheeks and eyes.”

“Apply Runway Coral with a lip brush so the look is precise while the bright coral keeps it playful. Try wearing a neutral eye shadow, peach-toned blush and a few coats of mascara to complete the look with fun, flirty lashes.”

Marc Jacobs collaborating with Sephora for new beauty collection!

The internet is abuzz with news that Marc Jacobs had his first meeting with make-up giant Sephora to create his debut make-up line! This is the obvious next step for the revered designer who has already dabbled in colorful perfumes (10 to be exact!) including Daisy, Lola, and his forthcoming scent Dot set for a Summer launch.

According to WWD, planning is in the very early stages so no release date is available as of today. We do however, have a statement from Mr. Jacobs himself.

“Anything to me that is part of the joy, the ritual, of getting dressed — things that women enjoy like bags, shoes, fragrance, clothes, makeup — that’s what fashion’s about for me,” said Jacobs, during an exclusive interview for his newest scent, Dot, which will be launched by Coty Prestige in July. “I love the opportunity, wherever there is one, to adorn, to decorate, to scent, to dress. That’s what fashion’s all about. It’s not necessary, it’s something you want — it’s a fancy and a whim.”

Let’s recall how another famous designer, Tom Ford first dabbled into make-up and the collection as grown to be one of my favorites!

Make-Up Monday: Bobbi Brown Long-Wear Eye Collection hits shelves in April

Talk about a product that I’ve been waiting for all my life! As an entertainment writer, I find myself being out and about for most of the day, nearly every time. Applying and re-applying make-up sometimes is a luxury so Bobbi Brown’s Long-Wear Eye Collection is the perfect product to get me through my day and into the night.

Nivea kicks off ‘Million Moments of Touch’ Movement in Miami

Do you find yourself spending more time on your cellphone or typing on your computer than cuddling your loved ones? A special study was conducted by Dr. Kory Floyd, Professor of Human Communications at Arizona State College that found that Americans live in a state of “skin hunger.”

Nivea has teamed up with with Lifechangers expert Dr. Drew and celebrity couple Jerry O’Connell and Rebecca Romijn to promote their campaign, Million Moments of Touch which aims to bring people closer together by putting down their electronic devices.

So you can imagine how excited and honored I was when the global skin- and body-care brand reached out to me to become their Latina Brand Ambassador! The Nivea team came down to Miami last week where we collaborated on a special event for members of the media, influencers and their loved ones to educate them on ‘skin hunger’ and the importance of showing affection to each other.

One of the most high traffic areas of the evening was Nivea’s Kissing Booth where guests grabbed hearts with special messages on them and posed with friends for photos. Everyone also took home a goody bag full of Nivea’s best products including two of my favorites: the Extended Moisture Body Creme and A Kiss of Vitamin Swirl Lip Care stick.

With all the wedding planning going on in Evelyn Lozada’s house, I’ve no idea how she had time to work on a new cosmetics line! According to a press release I received this morning, the reality star is announcing “the launch of her new cosmetics line, “E” by Evelyn Lozada, the go-to brand for high-performance beauty products at amazingly affordable prices.”

The pictures attached show a multitude of palettes in fun colors that totally represent the style of the Basketball Wives beauty. Here is a breakdown of what the collection will have available for fans and consumers to purchase.
