‘The Monkees’ star Davy Jones dies in Florida

I may only be in my early 30′s, but I grew up watching re-runs of many classic television shows including The Monkees. It is heartbreaking to hear that lead singer Davy Jones died of heart attack at age 66 this morning.

An official from the medical examiner’s office for Martin County, Florida confirmed with TMZ they received a call from Martin Memorial Hospital informing them that Jones had passed away.

I had the pleasure to meet Davy along with fellow band members Peter Tork and Mickey Dolenz on two occasions in Orlando, Florida a few years ago. The guys participated yearly in a Lupus Charity event put together by Backstreet Boys star Howie Dorough in memory of his sister.

You would think that other stars in attendance like Aaron Carter or Howie himself would garner the most attention, but it was really Davy and The Monkees who had the fans lining up in droves.

Jones is survived by his 3rd wife Jessica Pacheco and four daughters from previous marriages.

Ben Affleck confirms birth of baby Samuel!

It’s a shame a source outscooped new parents Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck yesterday about the birth of their son but proud poppa took to Facebook today to confirm the good news! On his Timeline, Ben announced baby Samuel Garner Affleck came into the world on Monday, February 27th.

Both Ben and Jen have picked such great names out for their kids that I was glad to see they kept their first sons name pretty traditional. It’s a good thing they didn’t go with their daughters Violet (age 6) and Seraphina’s (age 3) suggestions or else little Sam might have been named Donald Duck or Peter Pan!

“Our girls are working on names. At first they were definitely Disney. It was like, Donald Duck, Minnie Mouse Affleck,” the actress, 39, told Jay Leno recently. “And then they’ve moved on. Then it was Peter Pan, Captain Hook, Smee.”

Congrats again to the happy family!

Brooklyn Decker cheers on hubby Andy Roddick in South Florida

Actress and supermodel Brooklyn Decker supported husband Andy Roddick during the ATP Championship held at the Delray Beach Tennis Center on Tuesday, February 28th, 2012 in Delray Beach, Florida. Roddick took on Germany’s Philipp Petzschner during round one of the tournament.

Though he had a shaky start, the 29-year-old ended up the victor by game end.

“I was returning pretty badly early on,” Andy told Fox Sports. “But I have been starting to run better and move better in practice, and it began coming back as the match wore on. I was playing OK at the end.”

Brooklyn did look a little worried during the game but I’m sure she was pretty darn proud of her man!

Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck welcome baby boy!

I was literally JUST wondering when Jennifer Garner was going to pop and apparently she has! US Magazine is comfirming news that the power couple, who married in 2005, welcomed a baby boy in Santa Monica, California.

The Affleck’s are known for being super private so it doesn’t surprise me that we don’t know an exact birth date, name, or any other details about the new baby. We do however know that his big sisters Violet, aged 6 and Serafina, aged 3, are chuffed to bits to have a brother!

No one must be happier though than Ben, a huge Boston Red Sox fan who I can already see holding onto a tiny jersey, bat and ball.

I can’t wait to hear what the little tyke will be named!! Congrats!

Congrats! Uma Thurman expecting baby number 3

It’s no wonder 41-year-old Uma Thurman kept her arms wrapped on her lap during New York Fashion Week earlier this month! The Daily Mail revealed exclusively that she is expecting her third child– the first with longtime love Arpad Busson, according to her manager Jason Weinberg.

Uma shares custody of her two kids, 13-year-old Maya and 10-year-old Levon with ex-husband Ethan Hawke. Busson is a father to two boys with former girlfriend Elle Mcpherson named Arpad Flynn Alexander Busson and Aurelius Cy Andrea Busson.

The couple have been together on-and-off for the last few years and were even engaged at one point.

A source told Life & Style Magazine that Uma is “excited” and will welcome her little bundle during late summer.

Kourtney Kardashian announces, “It’s a girl!”

It looks like the Kardashian Klan is getting a new girl to pamper and promote! Kourtney announced this morning that she and longtime love Scott Disick will welcome a daughter in late spring.

I’m so excited to reveal that we are having a baby girl! This is an amazing blessing and Scott and I are so thrilled,” Kourtney said on her website.

There was no mention as to whether or not their princess will carry the moniker made famous by her mommy and excited aunts Khloe and Kim Kardashian! Kourtney and Scott named their two-year-old son Mason Dash Disick, so maybe his new little sister will also be named something with the letter “M” starting an all new trend?

There is no doubt in my mind that Baby Disick #2 will be one of the most fabulously dressed babies on the block!

Anne Rice has fangirl moment with ‘True Blood’ hunk Joe Manganiello

It’s so fun to see celebrities have fangirl/boy moments with the people they most admire! Thanks to her son Christopher, famed author Anne Rice enjoyed a special visit from True Blood hunk Joe Manganiello during the signing of her new book The Wolf Gift held at Barnes & Noble bookstore at The Grove on February 17, 2012 in Los Angeles, California.

What a perfect situation for Anne, who wrote Interview with a Vampire, to have a small screen werewolf make such an appearance!

Saturday morning, I was reading my Facebook updates when I saw the following fangirl message from Anne Rice herself!

My signing at B&N at the Grove in Los Angeles began with an enormous surprise. My son Christopher had promised this, and a surprise it was: in walked Joe Manganiello (magnificent werewolf Alcide of True Blood) with a bouquet of flowers! I almost died of fan fainting on the spot. He was as beautiful in person as he is on the screen, and irresistibly charming. He escorted me to the table to begin the signing. I am still in a mild state of delicious shock.

We love him too so we totally get what you were feeling Anne!
