The 23-year-old California native, who also reps Bongo clothing alongside PLL co-star Lucy Hale, unleashed her glamorous side while wearing gorgeous gowns by Faviana for an ad campaign. You can check out an exclusive behind-the-scenes look of the shoot below!

Kerry Washington keeps “busy” at Django Unchained Rome Photocall

'Django Unchained' Rome Photocall

Oh heyyyy Kerry Washington! I’ve not had the opportunity to tell you how addicted I am to the ABC series Scandal! I have no idea what is coming up this winter but I know that I am counting down the seconds until my girl Olivia Pope is back on the small screen. I know she won’t let my boy Huck (Guillermo Diaz) fry for a crime he didn’t commit and there is no one better to fix this all up than Olivia.

And I sure hope they are smarter than to kill off President Grant (Tony Goldwyn)! I’m going to hold my breath while waiting to find out!

With that being said, I’ve got real issues with whoever picked out this dress you wore to the Django Unchained photocall held at the Hassler Hotel in Rome, Italy earlier today. Your hair, flawless. Your make-up, stunning. But whoever grabbed this Peter Pilotto dress (from his Spring/Summer 2013 collection) should be questioned!

I normally love how you dress, but this look made me think that a fabric store had an explosion or someone got creative with various roles of wrapping paper! I realize Pilotto is known for creatively putting together various patterns, but this is just too busy on you. I’m trying really hard to find some redeeming quality in this look and sadly there is not one.

But since you are always so well dressed I think I will let this one slide girl! At least it has everyone talking about you right?!

So let’s move on from this dress and talk about this fabulous new movie Ms. Washington is promoting that has everyone on my Facebook and Twitter feeds going nuts, Quentin Tarantino’s Django Unchained. Currently #1 at the box office, the film takes place in the Pre-Civil War Era of the Deep South. It follows a freed slave (Foxx) who treks across America with a bounty hunter (Christoph Waltz) on a mission to rescue his wife (Washington) from a cruel and charismatic plantation owner (Leonardo DiCaprio).

Run……don’t walk to theaters and see it NOW if you haven’t yet. Spike Lee be damned.

Zooey Deschanel strikes a pose for Glamour’s Hair Issue

Zooey Deschanel Glamour_1

It’s a new year and I’m extremely excited about seeing 12 months worth of magazine covers featuring some of the hottest stars from both the big and small screen! Glamour’s February 2013 issue is special for two reasons: 1. It’s their big hair issue 2. They are featuring the spunky Zooey Deschanel on the cover! Looking fab in a Prabal Gurung dress, the 33-year-old is featured on both the front and back of the issue (see above), a first for the magazine!

Check out 5 of our favorite things that Zooey shared with Glamour below and pick-up the February issue to read the entire article:

On the success of New Girl and making the jump from movies to television…

“I’m just going where the material is. Some of the smartest people run the network I’m on. People sometimes say, ‘Oh, you were a movie star,’ and I’m like, ‘No, I was a supporting actress.’ I wasn’t an A-list actress, and I’m fine with that. I’m proud of what I did in film. But getting to do the stuff that I was passionate about was such an uphill battle. If New Girl had been a movie, I don’t know whether I would have been given the opportunity to do it.”

On whether she considers her hair to be part of her “brand”…

“This business is all about branding! But I’ve never been like, ‘Let’s calculate an image.’ I’m just, ‘I like that. Let’s do that.’ I grew up loving French New Wave movies, and so a lot of what I like is that style. It’s just about doing what you like so that when you look at yourself, you’re not disgusted. And I’m all about unintentional. I’m not a calculated person…. Somebody asked me, ‘How did you start doing comedy?’ and I was like, ‘By being unintentionally funny.’ I think making a movie or a record, the best things happen by accident—and those end up being the magic. Every time I’ve followed my gut it’s been better than when I’ve tried to do what I was supposed to do.”

On being seen as an oddly controversial figure to some women and her critics…

“I’m just being myself. There is not an ounce of me that believes any of that crap that they say. We can’t be feminine and be feminists and be successful? I want to be a f–king feminist and wear a f–king Peter Pan collar. So f–king what?”

On if she feels pressure to look a certain way…

“I don’t. But actresses have definitely gotten thinner over the course of my lifetime. Women I admired growing up— Debra Winger, Diane Keaton, Meryl Streep—were all beautiful and thin, but not too thin. There are a lot of actresses who are unhealthy-skinny—much, much too skinny. You can’t Pilates to that. I’m a very small person, and if I lost 15 pounds, I’d look like them; it’s scary. For young girls, what does that say? You need to look this way to be successful? That’s not true. You do not need to look or be anorexic to be successful in Hollywood. The range of what’s acceptable is larger than what people believe.”

On if she gives dating advice to her friends…

“I could answer that. It depends on the people. Everyone has to make some compromises.… I think of my parents, who have been married for 40 years, and my grandparents, who were married for 69 years before my grandfather passed away. My dad is so sweet; he’s always like, ‘Your mom is a better cook than any restaurant.’ And I remember my grandfather looking at my grandmother, saying, ‘She’s the most beautiful woman in the world.’ You can’t get any better than that. But we live in a different time. I don’t get it when people just have the goal of meeting someone—then it’s only about the goal. I’ve never been a five-year planner.”

searsStyle brings DIY Fashion Fun to Art Basel Miami

Gino Campodonico, Rosy Cordero, Ginger Harris, Annie Vazquez

I refuse to lie and say that Art Basel 2012 wasn’t one of the most hectic times of the year down in Miami. Some of the hottest events of the year took place and I had the chance to meet some pretty amazing people.

One of my favorite events took place at the searsStyle “Art of Fashion” suite which took place on Friday afternoon at Miami’s Raleigh Hotel. Fashionable ladies from all over the 305 and visiting Baselistas gathered to partake in a little DIY Fashion Fun! There was a Jean Bar where we were able to select a pair of jeans to bedazzle as well as t-shirts that you could cut-up and dress-up to your liking.

The terrace featured a fun photo booth and an amazing view of the ocean while we enjoyed delicious bites. My favorite thing about these types of events is how you can meet so many new people as well as catch up with folks who you might not have seen for awhile.

Say Cheese!

There was also racks and racks of items straight from Sears featuring pieces from their popular Kardashian Kollection, Bongo, Metaphor, and True Freedom. Check out this Kardashian Kollection Tweed dress I found!! (It’s currently on sale at Sears for $48.99) Don’t forget to Shop Your Way for extra savings!

With a leather motorcycle jacket and tights, this dress could easily go from day-to-night when the weather drops a little bit in Miami. (Miami girls get cold when the temperatures drops below 70!) There are really endless possibilities with this basic-yet-chic dress!

There were so many great things to do while there that I was sad I couldn’t do all of them. For example, cosmetics brand NYX was in the house applying make-up and I missed out! I did however get to visit with a manicurist who hooked me up thanks to Sally Hansen!

I’m rocking “Pat on the Black” from their “Complete Salon Manicure” collection. I LOVE IT!

Sears Style helps you “Shop Your Way” this holiday season!

Are you overwhelmed with your Christmas shopping this year? It seems like ever since Black Friday the malls have been jam packed with people rushing around trying to find the perfect (read: affordable) gift for their loved ones. This afternoon I headed over to my local Sears store at Aventura Mall where I have been shopping since I was a little girl to check out all the goodies they had in stock. Yes, this Sears location is pretty special to me as I remember my mom used to take my brother and I shopping ahead of a new school year, on our birthdays, and of course right before Christmas!

The first thing that caught my attention as I walked in were the sale signs! Yes the quality and the variety was also great, but with so many people to purchase gifts for, a girl can always do with a good sale. Am I right?!  That is what searsStyle is all about……

Speaking of saving money, with Sears “Shop Your Way” program, you can earn points, read reviews, and shop from the comfort of your own home. Of course you can also use your reward card if you shop in person if you prefer. This reward program is free to join and only took a minute to complete the registration. (Click here to sign-up! What are you waiting for?!)

You can also sign-up at any register when you are ready to pay to get the savings started on the spot! Look at all the fun pieces from Bongo, the Kardashian Kollection (Yes as in Kim Kardashian and her fabulous sisters Khloe and Kourtney!) and others I found and put together on the website!

So during my shopping trip, I was offered a challenge to put together a fab ensemble using $75. The most difficult part for me was narrowing down all my choices but I had a lot of fun playing with many of the items in the store. So here is what I came up with:

Sears “Art of Fashion” Ensemble featuring Snoopy

I don’t know what it is about the holidays but it really brings out the kid in me! Which is why this Snoopy t-shirt ($7.99 on sale) was the perfect choice to set the tone for my entire look. The beloved Peanuts character looked so handsome in his top hat and red bow tie but I felt like something was missing.

This Metaphor Sateen Blazer in Black Onyx ($29.99) gave Snoopy the perfect tuxedo-like look right?! Since my top half looked formal enough, I decided to finish my look with a pair of True Freedom jeans in a dark wash ($18.99).

“Pretty Little Liars” star Lucy Hale hosts Bongo event for fans!

Were you one of the 300 fans who got to party with Lucy Hale this weekend? The brunette star of the ABC Family hit Pretty Little Liars hosted a Bongo Karaoke Party at the Sears location at South Coast Plaza Shopping Mall in Costa Meza, California on Saturday, November 10th 2012.

After posing with fans for photographs and signing autographs, Lucy took one grand prize winner on a shopping trip! That’s no fair! I want to go shopping with the 23-year-old beauty! I follow her on the red carpet often and find she has unrivaled style, so I’d love to see what goodies she picked out.

Pretty Little Liars is currently on hiatus but will return for the second half of the season on January 8th, 2013.

Jennifer Lawrence: “I’m very excited at the idea of working with Dior”

Jennifer Lawrence is well on her way to follow in the footsteps of Natalie Portman, Kristen Stewart, and Blake Lively! The Kentucky-born beauty has just landed her first luxury fashion campaign as the new face of Christian Dior’s Miss Dior bag.

“I’m very excited at the idea of working with Dior and wearing Raf Simons’ new creations,” said Lawrence. “His debut ready-to-wear and haute couture have distilled all the glamour of Dior into the modern era.”

The fashion house was smart to make the announcement so close after Jennifer’s stunning Vogue Uk debut permanently cementing the star of the Hunger Games as a high-fashion red carpet sweetheart!  Lawrence was spotted front row at Simons debut show during Paris Fashion Week alongside boyfriend Nicholas Hoult, whom she co-starred with in X-Men: First Class.

Last month, Jennifer was the envy of every woman when she wore a stunning Dior dress from their coveted Couture Collection for the premiere of her latest film Silver Linings Playbook during the Toronto Film Festival.

“Like everyone else, I first discovered Jennifer Lawrence in the roles she played in action movies,” said Dior creative director Raf Simons. “I was, of course, struck by her incredible on-screen presence in these blockbuster films, but also impressed by her powerful interpretations of subtler more rounded characters. Her youth and her classic beauty, but also her force of character and the complexity she’s capable of embodying at such a young age, are, for me, both unique and very moving.”

The print advertisements will make their glossy debut in March 2013.
