WWE Diva Natalya keeps the Hart family legacy alive!

We continue our special “Countdown to Wrestlemania” series today with a special interview with WWE Diva Natalya. The 29-year-old blond beauty has wrestling coursing through veins as the daughter of Jim “The Anvil” Neidhart, niece of Bret Hart and granddaughter of Stu Hart.

Natalya is proudly carrying on the family legacy as the first third generation diva who has gained a legion of fans with her technical prowess in the ring. Not to mention her drop dead good looks that might confuse the casual spectator into thinking she can’t whoop some behind!

Scott Fishman from The Miami Herald and I chatted up Natalya last week to learn more about the campaign Pin-Up Strong which she co-created with good friend (and WWE Divas Champion) Beth Phoenix.

(Read our interview with Beth Phoenix here!)

“Six to eight months ago we were kind of on a crusade to change the diva’s division,” Natalya said.
“Our diva’s division has so many strong and powerful girls, but we kind of felt like we broke the mold. The term diva has kind of evolved over the years from the Wendi Richter’s’ of the past like the Fabulous Moolah and Mae Young. You had Wendi Richter, ‘Sensational’ Sherri and Miss Elizabeth. Then it sort of evolved more with the likes of Trish Stratus, Molly Holly, Lita and all sorts of women. Now you have the modern day diva with me, Beth Phoenix, Kelly Kelly, Eve Torres, Alicia Fox, the Bella Twins and so on.

“We felt we still broke the mold of the modern day diva. We felt we broke the mold of even the modern day diva. The two of us together, throughout our entire careers, have been compared to each other. They say, ‘You guys are so alike.’ We get mistaken for twins. Every time we are in an elevator together people think we are twins. We are so much alike, but different in a lot of ways.”

Natalya says the ‘Pin-Up Strong’ movement wasn’t planned. Fans got behind the two’s message of breaking down barriers and standing confident in your abilities as powerful women.

“We are very different from all of the girls,” Natalya said.

“We respect the other girls, but we pretty much broke the mold and kept tradition alive. Tradition to me is very important because I come from a very long lineage of wrestling excellence, wrestling royalty. So for me, keeping the tradition alive was important. We wanted to be more than just pretty faces. We wanted our WWE Universe to see extremely competitive girls. If I’m a fan watching from the sidelines, what do I want to see? What I want to see is what Beth Phoenix and I are. We are highly competitive divas that push all the limits and are, what Beth said once, willing to suffer for our craft.

“I think the WWE Universe can connect with that. They can connect with divas like myself and Beth who have an extreme passion for our business. You can’t replace hard work for anything. There is just no substitution for it. To me, that is what being ‘Pin-Up Strong’ is all about. It is embracing the bold, bright person that is inside.”

The female powerhouses stand out among the current crop of divas because they are as much beautiful as they are physically intimidating. Natalya is under the mentality that you have to change, adapt and grow as individuals or be left behind.

“There is nothing wrong with being a beautiful Barbie doll like Kelly Kelly, but we are ready to take it o another level,” Natalya said.

“We have to continue to evolve because the WWE Universe is becoming more and more sophisticated. They want to embrace girls who are not just size zero or size two. Sexy is confidence. Being sexy is embracing what you have. There is nothing sexier than a confident woman who is willing to go to the ring and get the job done. The fans expect nothing but the best from us. Beth and I aren’t just going to stay in this same bubble where we are just like Trish Stratus. We respect Trish Stratus and all the women before us, but just like those women helped their generation evolve, we have to help our generation evolve.”

Team ‘Pin-Up Strong’ has built a close bond with each other based on the passion they have for their profession. To Natalya, Beth is a best friend and sister.

“Of course there is friendly competition, but I really look up to her,” Natalya said.

“She is a couple of years older than me, but so she is a big sister to me. She is unconditionally supportive of me, and I’m unconditionally supportive of her. We don’t always agree on everything. We don’t always see eye-to-eye on everything, but that is what I like about our relationship. We can always tell each other how we feel. I always equate Beth to being my sister because I have two sisters, and they both grew up in the wresting world with a big wrestling family like the Harts.

“We would have little arguments and then be friends five minutes later. Beth and I have never had a huge argument, but we have a relationship that she is like a family member to me. My whole family respects her very much. I feel such closeness to Beth that I can tell her how I feel. We can be a little competitive, but we also share a lot with each other too. She has helped me come up with different moves, and I have helped her come up with different submissions. We both take our own areas of expertise as Beth is more power, and I’m more submission technician…I really couldn’t ask for a better friend than Beth.”

Even though Natalya and Beth are the best of friends, you can’t help but want to see them battle it out in the ring!

My dream match would be against Beth, Natalya explained very enthusiastically! It would be like Bret v Owen!!!

But I wanted to start a bit of beef between Natalya and another Diva, so I asked her who she would like to challenge!! Someone other than Beth of course!

“I think that myself and Beth both have our eye on Kharma…I think she would more than have her hands full with myself or Beth. I would love to personally practice my new German suplex on her. I know it would be really hard to get my hands around her waist, but I would love to get in the ring with Kharma. She may be the biggest, most dominating diva in WWE, but I came from the Dungeon. My whole family was raised to be winners. It’s not the size of the dog, but the size of the fight in the dog. So maybe Kharma would be up for challenge.”

When she is not making divas cry in the ring or working out, Natalya enjoys winding down with some of her favorite television shows. It’s an interesting mix to say the least.

“I love court TV,” Natalya said.
“Anything that is Nancy Grace or Cold Case Files or Investigation Discovery, I love. I’m so interested in anything that has to do with law and court system. When this whole Casey Anthony trial was going on I was glued to my TV. I knew everything about the case. I felt like I was practically a lawyer there. I love investigative reporting and all those kind of shows. I’m also a huge fan of the ‘Real Housewives of Beverly Hills’ for some reason or another. So yes, court TV and the Real Housewives interest me.”

- Watch Natalya on WWE programming each week on Raw 9 p.m. [ET] Mondays on USA Network and 8 p.m. [ET] Fridays on SyFy. WrestleMania 28 comes to Sun Life Stadium 8 p.m. [ET] Sunday, April 1 in Miami Gardens. For full details, visit their official website.

Spartacus: Vengeance: Is Mira going to battle Ilithyia? Katrina Law speaks!

This season on Spartacus: Vengeance, the character of Mira has grown into a much larger role for Katrina Law. The Jersey Girl spent quite a lot of time training with the boys very early on in shooting, leaving her as the sole female in the gladiator camp.

But don’t feel bad for her. Ask me what I wouldn’t do to spend all that time with men like Liam McIntyre, Manu Bennett, Peter Mensah and of course Dustin Clare!

I spoke with Katrina this week about the uncertainty of her characters relationship with Spartacus, her relationship with the females in the rebel camp, and how the dynamic shifts between Crixus and Spartacus when our boy Gannicus makes his triumphant return!

In talking with her about the evolution of Mira’s relationship with Spartacus, she gave us a little insight as to what is currently going on in her head and at what moment she got a reality check.

I think Mira’s foundation got rocked a little bit by Chadara (Bonnie Sveen) in episode two. I think she was pretty solid [up until then], she thought things were going a certain way before Chadara. I think coming into season two, she was pretty sure things were going a very specific way, the way she wanted it to.

She never expected to replace Sura but she thought she was getting a good deal with Spartacus.

There are moments when there’s little bubbles of goodness between the two of them and the outside world constantly seems to come in and poke holes into that bubble. Mira’s keeping the faith because she has these moments with Spartacus that are just so pure and genuine and real.

So I think right now she’s just questioning whether or not things are actually the way that she sees them because she suddenly got the point of view from the outside world and it doesn’t quite match up with how she saw the relationship.

Throughout the season your going to see her first fighting to see what her role is as a newly freed slave on her own but then also what her role is with Spartacus and whether or not he actually loves her.

“It’s possible that the relationship may not last and as of right now I think its being questioned by everybody; whether or not Spartacus has anything left to give, whether or not he actually is capable of it, or whether or not he is using Mira.

And whether or not Mira truly loves him or if she just latched on to the first thing that was available.

I think its just one of those big open-ended questions of “is it going to last?” because its not a guaranteed things such as anything in this world.”

So while she could not give me any details about which way the relationship would be going as the season advances, she did promise we would know for sure by the end of the season.

“Yeah you will, its a definite ending and I think its going to be good.”

This of course made me think of my friend Johan’s question for Katrina. Will Mira and Spartacus make any babies?

“Dun Dun Dun……it won’t be for a lack of trying if there isn’t.”

Last week I spoke to Katrina’s co-star Ellen Hollman who will debut her character Saxa during episode seven. Ellen said she “didn’t like Mira at all!” when she first arrived in Camp Spartacus. So I wanted to see what Mira was thinking when she first met Saxa.

When Mira walks back into the rebel camps and she sees all these new German rebel slaves that have been brought into it, everyone just kind of thought, “who are these diseased, mangy looking people?” Saxa was just one of the few.

I think in a sense Mira really respects Saxa because when she comes onto the scene she has been trained as a fighter and Mira had to learn the hard way as a necessity. In that regard she really respects the woman for being able to hold her own in a fight but at the same time she thinks Saxa is a little aggressive, uncouth, and a bit mangy. (laughs)

I don’t think she hates her but I think she is a little worried as to what she stands for in the Spartacus camp but then again she doesn’t even speak English so Mira can’t really communicate with her.

So this is when things start to get good! (maybe!) I know that Saxa has a thing for Gannicus (who can blame her right?!) but I wondered if Mira considered any of these women to be a threat to her relationship with Spartacus.

I think if anybody were to come up to Spartacus and try to take him, whether it be Saxa or anyone, I think Mira would have a say in that and would definitely put up a fight.

The statement is not so big on its own but when its paired with her answer to my next question, could mean a lot! I was curious as to what Mira’s interaction would be with Lucretia (Lucy Lawless) and Ilithyia (Viva Bianca) this season.

She doesn’t really interact with Lucretia at all this year but there is going to be a really interesting scene coming up with Ilithyia sometime in the near future. So its gonna be good and I can’t even tell you anything about it because anything that I would say would be a spoiler!

It’s gonna happen and its gonna be good.

We KNOW little Miss Evil Bitch Ilithyia has been enjoying the flashbacks of her sexy time with Spartacus every chance she gets! Do you guys think Ilithyia will be crazy enough to make a play for Spartacus?

This is purely speculation but what else would Ilithyia and Mira have in common?

Finally, I had to throw in a question about Gannicus out there purely because I enjoy talking about him! Crixus and Spartacus have gone from hating each other, to putting up with each other, to mutually respecting each other.

With Gannicus back in the picture, how will this dynamic change?

At the beginning of Vengeance Spartacus and Crixus are at odds . They are trying to figure out where to go, who’s gonna be the leader , what their agenda is, so you see them kind of duke it out in episodes 1,2, and 3 and it continues on in episode 4. Gannicus does come back in episode 5 and by that point Crixus and Spartacus have found a very tumultuous, happy medium and their fine with that. Then all of a sudden Gannicus comes back and everything is up in the air again! So it basically starts all over again. He causes a big stir in the gladiator camp and questions a lot of things and puts a lot of questions to people too.

So much going on, this show really needs to run at least two hours each week! Katrina has a guest starring role coming up on CSI:Miami and a new film entitled, The Bodyguard. We will makes sure to keep you guys posted on that!

Tune in to an all new episode of Spartacus: Vengeance, Friday nights at 10 pm only on Starz.

WWE Diva Beth Phoenix inspires women with Pin-Up Strong Campaign

With Wrestlemania only a few weeks away, those of us in Miami are getting pretty excited about all the great events coming into town! For those of you here locally and for all of you who will be watching from home, we want to show you the more personal side of various wrestlers that you might not even know!

So as part of a series we are dubbing, “Countdown to Wrestlemania,” AccidentalSexiness.com is teaming up with wrestling expert Scott Fishman from The Miami Herald to bring you some fun articles and coverage live from The Magic City! It’s a great honor to have Scott contribute, he is a huge wrestling fan and will get all the wrestling themed questions out there for you.

I on the other hand, will be working to find out more about them as a person. This will hopefully strike the perfect balance between the wrestling world and the pop culture insanity from this website!

I can’t think of a better person to kick-off this series with than with WWE Divas Champion Beth Phoenix. I had the pleasure to hang out with Beth during the Syfy Media Tour in 2010. She did a fantastic presentation in front of members of the press in support of the WWE and answered many questions about what it was like to be a Diva.

Afterward, we enjoyed conversation and butter beers together at The Wizarding World of Harry Potter and visited Ollivanders Wand Shop afterward! She is so laid back and down to Earth, you instantly think you have known her your entire life. It’s no wonder fellow Diva Natalya, whose interview we will share on Monday, considers her a sister!

Rosy, Syfy President Dave Howe, and Beth Phoenix

Beth and Natalya started a movement called, Pin-Up Strong where they encourage others to find strength within themselves and flaunt their unique attributes without conforming to stereotypes. Beth and Natalya are the antithesis of the delicate-“size-zero”-model-type, and aim to celebrate women with curvier builds and strong attitudes, who can kick butt and look good doing it.

With her mix of beauty and brawn, WWE divas champion Beth Phoenix takes her position as a role model for women everywhere seriously. This is why the blonde powerhouse and fellow female grappler Natalya established the ‘Pin-Up Strong’ movement.
Phoenix is a big fan of classic Hollywood glam and takes a classy approach to looking great.

“I think that in combination with living a healthy lifestyle and really presenting a good role model for women is kind of what ‘Pin-Up Strong’ encompasses,” Phoenix explained.

“It’s basically just words that I wanted to put out there for young women to identify themselves with. I wanted to show them that women of all shapes and sizes can be beautiful and powerful and set a good, classy example. You can find more out of your life, find success and be classy at the same time.”

The Glamazon believes these attributes can be found in the diverse roster of WWE divas. All smart, sexy and powerful in their own ways.

“If you look at us, there is every shape and size, color, creed and hairstyle you can imagine,” Phoenix said.

“Everybody brings a different type of beauty to the table. Natalya and I of course put ourselves at the front of the line. We have the new diva Kharma, who is a voluptuous woman and brings a fearsome type of beauty. We have Eve [Torres] and Kelly Kelly, so we have all shapes and sizes. I think when you look at the WWE divas there is definitely not just the aesthetic and attractive standpoint, but everybody has something to offer.”

“Eve Torres has an engineering degree. She is a trainer for Women’s Empowered at the Gracie jiu-jitsu school. Each girl has something incredible to offer. I kind of coin the term ‘Pin-Up Strong’ to encourage women to find themselves and find beauty in a classy way and put themselves out there at any shape or size.”

Phoenix, who began training at Ron Hutchinson Wrestling Academy at Sully’s Gym I in Toronto, recently got the chance to visit the place where her journey in this business began.

“Rob Fuego still runs a wrestling school up there and I just sort of popped in there to see some of the new female students training,” Phoenix said.

“A couple of the girls approached me. It was awe-inspiring for me because one of the little girls, her name was Jessica, told me she had my poster on her wall and that she looked up to me. It blew my mind because I still feel like them. To know I have influence and can reach someone so far away, influence them to want to do this job and step out of the mold, blows my mind.
The youngster also brought back memories when Phoenix was just a young fan, born in Elmira, New York and idolizing her heroes from afar.

“I was just like her,” Phoenix said.

“I was 14 years old with Alundra Blayze on my wall. It was nuts for that to happen to me. It was surreal. I even told her that I was just like you. I was a small town girl who had big dreams. Along the way there were a lot of people who told me no, but I just really, truly believed I can do this. I had that inner confidence that I encourage other women to have.
“It doesn’t mean necessarily becoming a WWE diva. It can be anything. Maybe it’s fitting into a dress for graduation. I don’t know. It could mean meeting a significant other or wanting a certain job or career, anything in life. It’s having that inner confidence to do that and to not let anything hold you back.”

Right now its too early to tell whether or not Beth will be heading into the ring by the time Wrestlemania rolls into Miami, but you can bet she will be out here meeting the fans and enjoying the festivities!

“WrestleMania always brings so much energy and craziness,” Phoenix said.
“You just have so much going on. It’s not only a special occasion for everybody and anybody in the wrestling business, but I would say the WWE Universe shows up in droves from all over the world. I can imagine that when you put us all in a hotbed like Miami, throw on top of that the hometown of The Rock, you have a recipe for nonstop partying and celebration the entire week. I think that there are a lot of cool things going on.”

“WrestleMania Axxess this year, I kind of got a sneak peak of some of the things that are coming. I think it’s going to be the best one yet. Then there is the Hall of Fame on Saturday with great superstars going in like Arn Anderson. We have so many awesome figures that are going to be there. The Hall of Fame is always great to see highlight moments with speeches and celebrities, which is not taking away from WrestleMania. It’s all the momentum leading into the big day. People say it’s the most spectacular show of the year. I would say it will be awesome, especially in Miami. Everyone is excited about it.”

WrestleMania 28 comes to Sun Life Stadium 8 p.m. [ET] Sunday, April 1 in Miami Gardens. For full details, visit their official website here.

Stay tuned for our interview with Natalya which will come out on Monday. Make sure you follow Scott via his official Twitter here, where he post links and information. Opinions expressed reflect no other entity. He can also be found tweeting incessantly during wrestling shows weekly.

‘Spartacus: Vengeance’: Ellen Hollman talks about Saxa’s connection to Gannicus

It is no secret that I have a slight obsession with Spartacus: Vengeance, specifically when it comes to the topic of Gannicus (Dustin Clare)! In season two, we have yet to catch a glimpse of our beloved hero from Gods of the Arena but I hear whispers that he is set to return in episode 5. (I can confirm I have seen episodes 1-4 and Gannicus is not in any of them)

And only two episodes later, we can expect Saxa (Ellen Hollman) to make her presence known to Spartacus (Liam McIntyre) before setting her pretty eyes onto Gannicus. Who can blame her right?

I had the pleasure to speak to Ellen last week and she promises her character will not just be strong but also vulnerable. Sounds a lot like Melitta no? There might be a comparable love match between them after all!

So far from what we have heard about Saxa we know she is “the first female German warrior to join the ranks of Spartacus. She’s fierce, fun, intelligent and a force to be reckoned with on the battlefield. In other words, she will kick your ass and have a laugh about it later.” But I wanted to know what Ellen could tell us about Saxa that we have not heard already.

Everyone talks about how strong she is and how she doesn’t take any shit and she kicks ass. But she also has a very empathetic and heroic side which I think is a true hero in a sense because she is also sensitive to other peoples hearts as well. She also encompasses being a woman because being a woman, she empathizes with death and struggle and she’s not just this total bad ass. She does allow herself to be feminine and vulnerable so she also allows a strength to come through as well.

There is strength in allowing yourself to be vulnerable and that’s a really beautiful thing that you will see glimpses of from Saxa, but not the whole time by any means.

Is that what Gannicus ends up liking about her? Ellen isn’t telling but we tried our best to get her to talk about what happens between her and our favorite gladiator!

Without giving too much away, she has a keen eye for him and the difference between every other man or woman that she has chosen to conquer–because she’s just a “take what she wants” “when she wants” kind of gal. Gannicus is more of a challenge because Saxa sees Gannicus as her equal.

She doesn’t feel that she is superior to him, hence why it’s a slow burn. Slowly but surely, she goes in and he becomes a special case and you won’t get any instant gratification with the relationship it’s something that procures.

This season, Ellen joins the ranks of Liam McIntyre who took over the titular role after Andy Whitfield had to pull out due to medical reasons. Did being a newbie like Liam create a bond between him and Ellen?

With Liam, I was instantly his little sister and he was my little brother. We both looked after each other and we both bonded. It was also because everyone was so welcoming to the both of us that I never felt like the new kid on the block. Everyone was so welcoming and so happy to have us.

We were basically a breath of fresh air, we were new blood and everyone welcomed that. Now I call him Lee Mack!

Ellen’s character Saxa comes in after being rescued by Spartacus. How does she acclimate to Team Spartacus…specifically with the women like Mira (Katrina Law)?

Oh I do not like Mira at first! I’m not a big fan of the Mira Camp in the beginning because she’s competition! I’m so used to being the alpha female in every situation and she is the alpha female especially for the rebel camp. You will see we are basically at each others throats from the very beginning.

She approaches things in a cool, calm, collective, and calculated manner where I tend to basically jump in the shallow end to see how deep it is. Saxa is the kind of girl who doesn’t burn bridges, she winds them up with dynamite and watches them explode!

She’s impulsive, she’s brash, and she’s ferocious and Mira’s more calculated and there’s trepidation in her because Mira’s not a warrior. So it’s kind of when you see two bulls fighting each other, they just want to prove which one is alpha.

That’s what I first think of Mira.

Speaking of women, will Saxa have any interaction with Lucretia (Lucy Lawless) or Ilithyia (Viva Bianca)?

That’s a tough one to answer without giving anything away! I will just say Saxa has fixed revenge against all Romans regardless of who they are and where they come from.

The people that have enslaved us on the ship were Romans and it was not necessarily clarified as to whether or not it was Lucretia and Batiatus but it actually isn’t. But it’s still Romans, that breed of people is our enemy. That is how I can answer that one without giving away too much.

Anyone who has Roman blood running through their veins is an enemy of Saxa.

I tried one last time to get some details behind Saxa’s relationship with Gannicus. But series creator Steven DeKnight has his team locked up pretty tight! This is what Ellen had to say:

They have us on a tight leash! I actually gave away a major plotline and I revealed it during an interview and the people actually printed it and translated it!

Here is what she said in the aforementioned interview with Zap-2-It:

“Forget the tease, I’ll give away an entire plot line with one of Saxa’s lines: ‘Warum hast du die römische Hure nur freigegeben, um im Gegenzug nichtserhalten?’

Which roughly translates to “Why have you released the Roman whore when you get nothing in return?” Ellen might have gotten in trouble for giving that away but 4 episodes in and I don’t exactly know what she is talking about!

Don’t forget to tune in for all new episodes of Spartacus: Vengeance, Friday nights at 10pm only on Starz. Also, make sure you follow Ellen via Twitter here. She is so funny and entertaining, I think you guys will love her!

‘White Collar’ star Tim DeKay: “Peter won’t be so quick to forgive Neal this time”

For all of you fellow Collars who are getting ready for an all new explosive episode of White Collar tonight, I have a special treat for you! I had the pleasure to speak with Tim DeKay recently about what we can expect for the remainder of season three.

This season has been my favorite one thus far. Character development really took a front seat and the unexpected surprises (like the time when Neal had to pretend to be married to Elizabeth [Tiffani Thiessen] and the return of Keller [Ross McCall] ) kept me on the edge of my seat!

So is this going to be a recurring theme this season?

T. DeKay: “You will see more of that. You’ll also meet Elizabeth’s parents which will be fun. Beau Bridges comes back as a guest star and now that Neal is up for commutation you’ll start to see really what Peter does because it comes down to his decision as to whether or not Neal should be a free man.

There are certain factors that come to play that will inform Peter as to whether or not he should allow Neal to be free.

That is what the show is based on, relationships. You’ll see Mozzie (Willie Garson) and Mrs. Suit involved with quite a caper. You’ll see Peter and Neal go undercover together which is always fun. Diana and Jones are always heavily involved.

You’ll get to see a lot more of the dynamics between the relationships.”

I knew once Peter found out that Neal did know about the treasure and that he was involved, it would not be easily forgotten. Especially since all of his secrets ended up getting Elizabeth kidnapped!

Will Peter always have to keep one eye open with Neal?

T. DeKay: “He won’t be quick to forgive Neal this time. The interesting thing is that Peter loves the guy, he loves Neal and Neal loves Peter.

But he’ll never, ever, implicitly trust him”

With Neal’s commutation dangling like a carrot, will this season see him get his freedom?

T. DeKay: “That is what propels us into the rest of the season. What is Neal going to do and how is Peter going to decide what he is going to say to the commutation board.

That propels us right into the end of the season. And I just want to leave you with this, I think the last moment of this season is our biggest cliffhanger to date.

Rosy: “Oh that Jeff Eastin is one evil man.”

T. DeKay: “”He is an evil man, and you can quote me on that!”

A big thank you to all the DeKay fans who submitted questions via Twitter. Unfortunately Tim was running late and I had a very limited time to talk to him. Trust me, I was dying to tell him about the “Shirtless Peter” campaign spreading across the net like wildfire!

Tune in to an all new episode of White Collar, tonight at 10pm only on USA.

Stacy Bendet of Alice + Olivia welcomes Miami fans into a Candy-filled wonderland!

Do you know what its like to wander around a candy-filled wonderland? Miami fashionistas had the opportunity to experience such an event last week when Saks Fifth Avenue hosted Stacy Bendet of Alice + Olivia at their Bal Harbour Shops location.

As soon as fans walked in through the main Saks entrance, they were welcomed into the Contemporary department with trays of Moet champagne with straws as colorful as Bendet’s latest ready-to-wear collection. A large table served as the hearth of the event, filled with colorful candies, cupcakes, jelly beans, and even butterfly-shaped gummy bears that matched Stacy’s decorative hair pins!

Leggy models rocked funky sunglasses and sky-high hair-do’s along with bright pieces from the collection that are sure to set tongues wagging come spring.

I was alerted to Stacy’s arrival when the sea of beautiful people parted and all of a sudden the room became silent. Everyone attempted to catch a glimpse at her fashionable ensemble, which included the jaw-dropping A + O Gizelle pumps that everyone coveted!

This is most definitely one of the most fun events I’ve attended this year. How can you top a day filled with sweet treats, champagne, Cold Stone Ice Cream, beautiful clothing, and a chat with a beloved designer? Not to mention some fabulous friends to share the experience!

And since not all of you were able to stop by and enjoy this amazing event, we put together this fun video and some pictures for you all to enjoy.

Saks Fifth Avenue hosts many fashionable events around the year, so stay tuned to this space to find out who will be making an appearance in the future! I heard whispers of some really big names who will be stopping by in 2012, you won’t want to miss it.

Dita Von Teese adds glamour and beauty to the mini bar

I often get asked which celebrities have been my favorite to interview, and after last Thursday, I can add Dita Von Teese to my list! The soft spoken seductress is one of the nicest people you will ever meet not to mention one of the most beautiful.

When I first heard that the burlesque beauty would be spending some time in Miami, I wondered how much she would like it here in sunny South Florida since she takes such amazing care of her skin. But it seems that the Magic City has plenty of other things to offer, like delicious food and Cuban men—-two things both Dita and I keep close to our hearts.

She travelled to Miami last week to continue the U.S. launch of her vintage-inspired mini bar, “My Cointreau® Travel Essentials” and I had the pleasure to attend the private party held at the Mondrian South Beach’s Sunset Lounge.

You should have seen the folks who just so happened to be staying at the hotel or grabbing a bite at Asia de Cuba who witnessed Dita make her grand entrance down the hotel lobby’s black spiral staircase wearing a silver Herve L Leroux gown and studded Christian Louboutin heels.

We were all left with jaws dropped.

Von Teese, who accented her stunning dress with vintage earrings and a Cartier ring, also dazzled photographers when she posed on the Cointreau® “orange carpet” alongside a luggage cart stacked high with vintage trunks and her limited-edition travel accessory.

While on the carpet I had the chance to speak to her about this remarkable collaboration with Cointreau, what her beauty secrets are to keeping her skin so flawless, and more!

After interviews were done, she took the time to have personal conversations with all who wanted to meet her before posing for tons of pictures. The work of a beauty like Dita is never done!

Before calling it a night, Dita and I enjoyed a private chat where I discovered her excitement over the US launch of her signature scent that is already a hit in Europe (stay tuned for details!). I also HAD TO ask her about the stunning shade of red that was gracing her perfectly shaped lips. (It’s Smoky Red by Tom Ford and its sadly discontinued)

“My Cointreau® Travel Essentials” ($399 available at high-end retailers) contains all the accessories needed to create original cocktails including a bottle of Cointreau®, a jigger for measuring, a shaker, vintage-inspired cocktail glasses, a special Cointreau® atomizer and a classic bar spoon. After seeing the product and the spokesperson in person, I can assure you that it completely captures the essence of Dita Von Teese.
