Celebrate Magic City’s Second Season In Style!

Magic City Season 2

With only two days left before the season two premiere of the hot hot hot Starz drama, “Magic City”, why not celebrate it in style? The network has partnered with, The W Hotel to give you the ultimate Ike Evans experience. I can’t think of a better location on South Beach to call home for a few days that will make you  feel like you’re in a modern version of The Miramar Playa.

If you jump on this opportunity stat, you will be able to attend a special season 2 screening tonight hosted by Dominik Garcia-Lorido who stars as Mercedes, the housekeeper-turned-flight-attendant who has stolen the heart of hottie Danny Evans. Their relationship status was left pretty much up in the air during the season finale. I’m dying to know what will happen next, especially after all the drama that is going to go down after she finds out about her mother’s alleged demise.

The “Magic Cit”y package is available for purchase at W South Beach from now through August, for stays until December, 2013. Guests will be invited to revel in the sexy decadence of life as a Miami Beach hotelier with rates starting at $429/night. The Magic City package includes the following:

Bad Girls Club: “Find Me My Man” Featuring Me!

Find Me My Man Miami

Where does a former member of the “Bad Girls Club” go to when looking for someone to date? Why Miami of course! I received a fun invitation from Oxygen Network asking me to be a Social Life Expert for a special web video showing three former BGC members- Janae Bradford, Valentina Anyanwu, and Nancy Denise– who are looking for men that are different to any they’ve ever dated. As a Social Life Expert, I suggested local places the girls and their dates could visit!

We had a great time at the shoot which took place at the Riviera South Beach Hotel on March 18th. I was joined by fellow bloggers Tammie Reed from Atlanta and Miami girl Ria Michelle. It was quite an experience to spend time with the Bad Girls to say the very least! They have pretty large personalities as you have seen first-hand on the show but are also really down-to-Earth and funny in real life.

I’m so excited to share the preview of the show with you all! Don’t forget to tune in to “Find Me My Man” when it premieres on the Oxygen Network at 9pm.

Fashion’s Night Out 2012 will go down as one of the most fun events I’ve ever attended! Not only was I asked to host the third floor Miami Spice event at Macy’s Aventura Mall, but I had the chance to interview supermodel Niki Taylor (in Rachel by Rachel Roy), one of the official hosts for the night.

During the late 90′s and early 2000′s I followed Niki’s career across the many glossy pages she graced, so it was a total dream come true. Anyone who has had the pleasure to meet this fashion icon can attest to what a sweet and down-to-earth person she really is. Thank you Niki for making my night so special!

Macy’s at Aventura had some amazing events going on. The Real Housewives of New York star Countess LuAnn de Lesseps (in Michael Kors dress) was in the house and excited fans got to gab about the latest episodes and snap some photos with her. She and I briefly chatted about fashion and she told me she has an apparel line she is working on and plans to debut during the Housewives reunion show so watch out for that!

I asked her whether she considered us curvy girls while creating the line and the Countess confirmed that she not only had us in mind but also women who travel often. That has me written all over it! I can’t wait to see what she has in store!

Julissa Bermudez & Luciana Scarabello both in Rachel by Rachel Roy

Dominican stunner Julissa Bermudez (in Rachel by Rachel Roy) from Empire Girls hosted a shopping party for Miami fashionistas and excited fans who were dying to find out if the show was getting renewed for a second season. I had the pleasure to interview her for Latina Magazine so keep an eye out for that soon!

My favorite dress of the night was worn by Luciana Scarabello of NBC’s Fashion Star. She wore a Rachel by Rachel Roy dress in purple that had a stunning dip in the back….so sexy! What I loved the most about it was that she pushed out of her comfort zone to wear it last night. She mentioned to me in the green room that she doesn’t normally wear dresses like but that she felt more confident when she saw how much we loved it on her!

As part of the Miami Spice events, Bongo’s/Lario’s on the Beach brought samples of their delicious arroz con pollo (yellow chicken and rice) which was a hit with the crowd. Morton’s Steak House and Il Mulino also had delicious bites that shoppers couldn’t get enough of.

The biggest stars of the night were Bacardi and Stella Artois who had a huge line of people queuing up for drink tickets! To learn more about my outfit ( INC International Concepts Dress, Rachel Roy Shoes) Click here!

Fashion’s Night Out: Join me at Macy’s Aventura!

Does anyone else wonder why Fashion’s Night Out only comes around once a year? Until we get that fixed, let’s focus on the one day we do get. HAPPY FASHION’S NIGHT OUT, the night where the fashionable get together to celebrate all things fabulous.

This year, I have been invited to host a very special segment at Macy’s Aventura Mall that highlights Miami Spice. Chefs from Bongo’s Cuban Cafe, Cascata Grill, IL Mulino, Lario’s on the Beach, and Morton’s Steakhouse will be on-hand with samples and giveaways!

Now you might be saying, food during Fashion’s Night Out?! Umn yeah! I couldn’t pick two topics that I love more than food and fashion. Maybe the models don’t eat but us regular folks do love some grub!

To satiate your thirst for fashion, Macy’s will have all this going on:

Romero Britto launches line of strollers and car seats in Miami

Can’t get enough of Romero Britto and his fun pop art designs? The Brazilian artist whose work is displayed all over the world, announced his partnership with Dorel Juvenile Group to create The Quinny® and Maxi-Cosi® Collection by Romero Britto at a special media luncheon held at Britto Central on Thursday, August 23rd, 2012.

The collection features the artist’s contemporary work on luxury strollers, car seats and accessories.

“Through my art I hope to inspire warmth, creativity and happiness. The Quinny and Maxi-Cosi brands are a perfect marriage to further spread optimism and happiness reaching even the youngest children,” said Romero Britto. “Through this partnership we are able to deliver inspiring designs to moms, dads and children around the world.”

I was really impressed with the technology these new strollers had! It makes it very easy for parents to pack and unpack the stroller while ensuring the comfort of the child. Not to mention the entire family will look stylish as they stroll around town!

If you live in the South Florida area, you can purchase this fabulous new collection at Ideal Baby from September through October and then at other Specialty Baby Retailers nationwide.

L’Oreal Paris hosts Summer Beauty Suite in Miami!

Up in a penthouse suite at the new SLS Hotel on South Beach, L’Oreal Paris welcomed members of the media to an exclusive Summer Beauty Suite last week. The brand unveiled many of their hottest products of the season as well as introduced us to brand ambassadors Claudia Betancur and Marcos Carrasquillo.

The suite was set-up so that we could not just view the products but also try out their make-up and nail lacquers. Jay, our nail professional at the L’Oreal’s Colour Riche Nail Bar, worked his magic by selecting two fun shades for my nails. He chose “Tweet Me” and “Jet Set to Paris” which matched my outfit perfectly.

That is what I love about nail lacquers, you can turn your digits into accessories that match your outfits!

Here is a tip for those of you finding some colors appear too shear on your nails. In order to get the exact shade you see in the bottle, make sure you put a white base (Jay used L’Oreal’s “I Will”). It may seem silly to some but quite a few people had no idea this was the way to achieve the perfect match!

Do you like this color combo?

When it came time to sit in the make-up chair, I was excited to try out L’Oreal’s Infallible Eye Shadow since my girlfriend said it lasts all day. Is there really, truly an eye shadow in existence that you don’t need to re-apply after being out in the Miami heat that maintains its rich color?

Oh yes……and according to the packaging, it lasts for 24 hours!

L’Oreal Infallible in Eternal Sunshine

After we got all glammed up, the team took us to Katsuya where we received a very special recorded message from one of Mexico’s most prominent media personalities and L’Oreal’s newest spokesperson Martha Debayle! Sadly she couldn’t join us due to her busy work schedule, but we were all excited to hear that such a strong Latina had been signed on to represent the brand.

The tv/radio personality/entrepreneur is a great example to women of all ages, ethnicities and backgrounds! Look for her in ads for the Excellence Crème Pro-Keratine Hair Color in September.

On the left I’m chatting up Claudia Bentancur about the latest beauty trends and on the right I’m with Erika & Danielle from L’Oreal Paris and Rodner Figueroa

L’Oreal also gave us a goody bag with many of the products we saw on display in the suite to try out at home. Watch out for our reviews in the near future! Don’t forget to follow all the latest from L’Oreal Paris on Twitter and Facebook.
