Can’t Miss Flick: Warm Bodies

WARM BODIES

Have you ever heard of a zombie romantic horror comedy before? It sounds crazy, but it works! The movie I’m referring to, of course, is Warm Bodies, starring the adorable Nicholas Hoult and Teresa Palmer. Based on the novel of the same name by Isaac Marion, the story follows young zombie hottie “R” (he can’t remember the rest of his name) who falls in love with a girl named Julie after he eats her boyfriend. Honestly, the perfect start to any romance.  This sets in motion a chain of events that could change the world as they know it.  Juicy!

While I can’t give you all the details, I can say that it is a great film!  First of all, it is funny. This is a film that pokes fun at itself  while still being serious enough to make the plot believable. Look out for one scene where they pay homage to the comedy classic film Airplane! (1980). The entire theater could not stop laughing throughout the film but that one little bit was a nice surprise.

Second, the music was phenomenal. The soundtrack features music from The Black Keys, Broken Bells, and the Troggs. I’d never heard of these bands before but fell in love after watching the movie.  This seems to be a trademark for Summit Entertainment. I mean, look at the Twilight soundtrack - perfection.

The chemistry between co-stars Hoult and Palmer was undeniable. The weird thing, however, is that Hoult’s character R is dead. So does this mean necrophilia will become a thing? Or do we look at it like kissing a vampire, just a different species? So many questions but it all feels so right!

And did I tell you it was scary? Because it was! Let’s not forget that this is still a zombie film and that means creepy corpses running around.  I had to grab my movie buddy a few times. This is not for the faint of heart people!

The thing that surprised me the most was how much heart the film had and the message it left behind. After the film, I felt like hugging a total stranger. When you see the movie, you’ll understand why. It has an excellent cast lineup that includes Dave Franco from 21 Jump Street and the legendary John Malkovich. The point is, it was a great film and it will make you feel so good on the inside. Go see it!

Warm Bodies comes to theaters February 1. Check out the trailer below.

Bradley Cooper bundles up in Madrid

Bradley Cooper Silver Linings_1

My boyfriend Bradley Cooper may not have taken home the Golden Globe last weekend but he still has the chance to take home an Academy Award! The 38-year-old Pennsylvania native was photographed promoting the highly lauded Silver Linings Playbook (El Lado Bueno de las Cosas) at the Callao Theaters on January 16, 2013 in Madrid, Spain.

Cooper may have been the only star in town in support of the film but he was all the city needed! He took his time after speaking to media on the red carpet to greet fans and pose for photographs. Now that Bradley has spent so much time showing off his skills speaking French, maybe the newly single hunk can take some time and learn a bit of Spanish?!

Based on a novel by the same name, Silver Linings Playbook follows former teacher Pat Solitano (Cooper) who just spent eight months is a state institution on a plea bargain. Pat is determined to rebuild his life, remain positive and reunite with his wife, despite the challenging circumstances of their separation.

When Pat meets Tiffany, a mysterious girl with problems of her own, things get complicated. Tiffany offers to help Pat reconnect with his wife, but only if he’ll do something very important for her in return. As their deal plays out, an unexpected bond begins to form between them, and silver linings appear in both of their lives.

Silver Linings Playbook is in theaters across the country now.

Daniel Craig and Berenice Marlohe bring “Skyfall” to Berlin

As excitement continues to build over the upcoming James Bond film, we have the latest images of the man himself, Daniel Craig at yet another promotional event. It must be hard to be 007 but hey, somebody has to do it!

Craig, who was joined by the newest Bond girl Berenice Marlohe and directer Sam Mendes, attended a photocall for the film ‘Skyfall’ at Adlon Hotel on October 30, 2012 in Berlin, Germany. The duo, along with their co-stars Javier Bardem, Naomie Harris, Ralph Fiennes, and Dame Judi Dench, have been traveling to all corners of the world in support of the twenty third Bond film to date.

“I think there’s been times when I’ve been standing on top of buildings on other movies and wondering, ‘What the hell am I doing?,” Daniel said about the stunts he performed in the film. “But on Skyfall it felt real good. We really wanted to push Skyfall as far as we could. We’ve always relied on the fact that we do things for real on Bond movies.

“The CGI is just to help out, as opposed to creating the scene. Standing on top of a train traveling at 50km/h, while fighting Ola Rapace over a 300ft drop, that’s a standout moment for me.”

In Skyfall, Bond’s loyalty to M is tested as her past comes back to haunt her. As MI6 comes under attack, 007 must track down and destroy the threat, no matter how personal the cost.

The film opens in US theaters on November 9th, 2012.

Robert Pattinson takes Australia by storm!

It’s official: The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2 mania has begun! Robert Pattinson took some time out of his busy promotion schedule to attend a special fan event at Fox Studios on October 22, 2012 in Sydney, Australia.  He was so sweet, you can see him doing the long-arm photo for giddy girls who couldn’t wait to post with their favorite big screen vampire.

In an airport far, far, away (Narita, Japan to be exact), Robert’s co-star (and former/current [???] girlfriend) Kristen Stewart was spotted also greeting anxious fans early this morning.  I am not quite sure of this duos status, but I too saw those images of them smooching during a recent night out, so I wish them the best! Team Robsten in full effect!

Oh hai KStew!

Plus it was hella sweet for her to take the time to meet with fans who waited an obscene amount of time to catch a glimpse of her.  I’m sure she had a pretty long trip from Los Angeles yet she still managed to look fabulous!

The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2 hits theaters on November 16th, 2012.

Ben Affleck suits up for “Argo” premiere in London

My fascination with Ben Affleck started when I first saw him in 1992′s School Ties and it’s amazing to me that, here we are, twenty years later! The hunky Mr. Affleck hit the red carpet this evening to premiere his latest film Argo during the 56th BFI London Film Festival held at tOdeon Leicester Square on October 17, 2012 in London, England.

Joining him on the red carpet are Ben’s co-stars Bryan Cranston and John Goodman. I honestly have a hard time recognizing Bryan when he is not on Breaking Bad! It’s like I almost expect him to be Walter White all the time, how awful of me!

Argo has been garnering rave reviews on both sides of the pond and is rumored to a big contender for accolades during award season!

The film is loosely on Tony Mendez’s account of the historical rescue of six U.S. diplomats from Tehran, Iran during the 1979 Iran hostage crisis. It also stars Victor Garber, Alan Arkin, Tate Donovan, and Chris Messina.

Argo is currently showing in theaters across the United States.
