Stephen Colbert accompanies Alicia Keys

Move over Jay, Stephen Colbert is gunnin’ for your spot, although I’m not too sure Alicia approves of the most recent “Empire State of Mind” duet with the talk show host.

You read that write folks, Stephen Colbert of the “Colbert Report” accompanied Miss Keys during her performance of “Empire State of Mind Pt. 2,” just recently on his talk show. Can’t knock him for trying though can we? His verses were refreshingly better than some more prestigious rappers, come to think of it, bringing the suburban aspects that Colbert said were left out of the original.

The “Empire State of Mind” duo of Alicia Keys and Jay-Z were spotted backstage at the World Aids Day Charity Concert presented by American Express on December 1st in New York City.

More than just a pretty face. More than a phenomenal artistic talent. Alicia Keys has a heart of gold. Being forever changed by her visit to Africa in 2002, Keys’ intense passion for those less fortunate has motivated her to the point where she insist on bettering the lives of a people not so lucky.  The singer/songwriter is giving five lucky people the opportunity of a lifetime, to travel to South Africa and inspire the native people to in turn change the world. The contestant winners themselves will undoubtedly return with a renewed sense of thankfulness and appreciation for those things that are taken for granted. Many times, the subjects who are meant to receive the inspiration, wind up doing some inspiring of their own.

Alicia Keys sings about a broken heart

Alicia Keys was stylin’ it on the set of her newest music video for Try Sleeping with a Broken Heart in New York City today. This is the second single to be released off her fourth studio album entitled, The Element of Freedom.

If you think you’ve heard it all from Alicia, you’re dead wrong!

“I think you can expect the unexpected cause there’s going to be things that you’re going to be like, ‘Wow, is that her? Is that her?’ And I love that about it. You can definitely expect to see major growth, but you’re going to fall in love with this album,” Alicia commented.

American Idol fans, Alicia Keys wants you to show her the money! The Grammy Award winning actress made an appearance on AI this evening urging fans to support the Text ALIVE challenge.

Text ALIVE challenge brings medicine and medical care to children and families with HIV/AIDS in Africa and India.

Spanish singer Alejandro Sanz played host to Alicia Keys in Miami last night. Alejandro and some friends took Alicia out to enjoy the warm weather and the great parties.

Alejandro and Alicia are currently working on a duet for his first English studio album set to be released on September 29th, 2009.
